Purchasing expansion packs nothing but trouble

Kitchen is a bit of a letdown
I really enjoyed the first two portions of this game (the cottage and the garden). I had fun renovating and decorating them, and I love the word tile and solitaire game in the garden. However, the kitchen has been a bit of a letdown. I opened it today and saw that my videos were already done. They only lasted for 10 days and now there’s nothing left to do in the app except play sudoku (which I prefer to do by hand) or match 3 (which I don’t want to do). Kind of bummed. I preferred the format of the previous “levels,” and I prefer getting to do the renovations myself.Show lessjlhm17
Expansion pack problems!
Like so many others here I have purchased the garden and kitchen expansion packs and after accessing them once I then lose access and am asked to buy them again, despite having already paid! Jacquie Lawson customer service just keep telling me to contact the app provider…I received a refund for the garden (and then miraculously also had my access restored as well!) and have just submitted a refund request for the kitchen. All I want is access to the products I’ve paid for as they are great! Please fix this problem!Show lessSwanseaGirl44
Rubbish
Well I am the latest customer to have problems with the new kitchen expansion pack. I bought it and used it and now I am being told to buy it again. All my cottage progress has been lost and the whole thing is a total mess. Apparently Jacquie Lawson has over 100 pages of help on their website covering the most common questions. Wow! If you have that many help pages surely you have realised you have serious technical problems. Might be worth sacking your IT team and starting again before you have no customer base left. Personally I am giving Jacquie Lawson 48 hours to sort out their product accessibility and then I will be requesting a refund from Apple. It might be nice if they used their database systems and sent an email to everyone who has bought the cottage and the expansion packs explaining what they are doing about this matter! Love the kitchen… finally!
Updating my review! Had to first buy the Kitchen expansion,then send it to myself on the website, then activate it! I had to also log out on iPad and log in again…to the Country cottage app, and then finally it was activated. I love it, as with the other apps in the series it is beautiful and addictive. Got more points just for doing the tour. Giving 5 stars, but devs, you need to make the activation a bit clearer for people. Been playing several games in a row in country cottage to build up the points before I do anything, and look forward to playing the new sweets game.Show lessPainternicky
Every time a new feature, there’s a screw up
I just love the Jacqui Lawson games, apps, etc, but it is so frustrating that nearly every time they launch an upgrade or new feature then the licensing is screwed up. The country cottage kitchen is yet another. I’ve bought the expansion, but it will not allow me to launch the kitchen, and keeps saying buy it, but then says you’ve already bought it, but will not activate it. This happened with just about every product launch the last three years - advent calendars, country cottage, garden and now kitchen. Eventually it gets sorted, but why can J L not test the upgrades properly? They’d get 5 * from me every time then. But I’m yet again sorely tempted give 1 * and ask for my money back.Show lesspeteratwyre
Unable to access expansion packs
I purchased the expansion packs and I am unable to access them. The app continually says to buy now and then I am unable to buy them again. I have reinstalled the app and signed out and back into my account. This is a problem for many people! Refund us or fix it! I am not impressed!Pucan8591
Confused
I have tried to get my question answered on the contact us part of the app but just get a list of the most common questions, so this seems to be the only way I can hopefully get my problem dealt with. This morning I saw that the Country Cottage Kitchen was finally available to purchase so I paid for it but it still says “buy now” when I try to go into it. Please can you help?Show lessRosie 1929
Doesn’t work
Too bad. Same thing as other reviews…even only 2 out of 3 cards sent didn’t work. Disappointing. Cottage showed up once and just tells me to redo w load or repurchase. Too bad because it looks like a nice site except that things do not work.new name pending
Gets boring quickly
The graphics are great and the concept is interesting. However, in order to tidy the cottage you have to play games to earn points to pay for cleaning and repairs. There are only two games so far. You earn so few points while playing that it takes forever to have enough for a cleanup or repair. After a while it becomes boring.
