Amazing so far!

I haven’t played very much yet (maybe 30 min?) but this is better than Duolingo already. I’m learning korean with this game and it’s already given me way more linguistic context than Duolingo. This game actually teaches that the language is very very contextual and often doesn’t use pronouns at all and Duolingo hasn’t taught anything like that, as well as teaching casual and formal (humble) words and phrases and what it means. Looking forward to the rest of this

Engaging and Effective

I never thought learning a language was as easy as this app makes it. Lingo gives clear instructions on everything that you're learning, from writing and speaking plus it has a bonus of being engaging and fun. 10/10 worthy of 5 stars!

This helps a lot

Ive been trying to learn Korean and this game is helping a lot for me. I would suggest that you make it available in the playstore as I looked it up my daughters andriod and its not acailable there. Not everyone has an iphone and this game is beneficial to everyone wanting to learn a new language.

Good, can be better

I initially thought the game was a bit childish, after a few days it became almost additive. Certainly a fun way to do flash cards. Been playing daily for a few weeks now, still can’t figure out how to win the Quest and why I have to keep repeating the same adventure over and over again, as no other option appears. Some cards don’t work as advertised. A bit more Help/Tips would be good.

Hi there! Thanks for your review. I am so glad to hear you are enjoying learning with Lingo Legend. I believe there may be a bug impacting your quest. Can you send me an email at support@lingolegend.com and we can get to the bottom of it for you?

Amazing way to learn

I just started this game but I’m loving just how fun it makes learning! I’ve been trying to learn Spanish and French on my own for so long now but to no avail as my attention span is HORRIBLE with the other types of learning language apps or practicing with the learning books. So this is a fun little game experience and I get to learn!

Wait… I am ACTUALLY learning?

This app has helped me master in a week what I couldn’t master for years: Native Korean numerals. I have come so far with the language without even noticing it!

Every single aspect of the game is so well thought, to the point were even the music feels like a lowkey banger.

I LOVE this game and it’s seriously revolutionary in the sense that it’s probably the only app out there that checks both the ‘fun’ box and the ‘actually-learning box’.

Also their customer support is exemplary! On Discord, they even give feedback to your feedback and really makes you feel included in the project.

Ok, enough talk, now back to Yorthwood!

Really fun but extremely limited

The app is really fun & I haven’t seen any issues yet which is impressive since my phone is a really old model and usually runs terribly. The game would be a 5/5 if I could afford membership. However, as a free player I’m extremely limited in how much I can do each day. Energy doesn’t recharge passively but instead resets daily, which is a shame because at 15 total energy I can sometimes only do one mission/lesson a day. I’ve tried watching the ad to get more energy but after watching one, I get told there’s no more ads available to watch.

EDIT: App crashed on me & took my energy without being able to finish the level. Effectively unplayable for any day this happens.

Thanks very much for sharing your feedback. We want to ensure the free version is enjoyable and engaging so we really appreciate you sharing your thoughts. I am glad you like the app and it's been running well on your phone! EDIT: I am really sorry about that. If you can send us an email at support@lingolegend.com we can try and get to the bottom of what happened! We have also on the most recent version made a change so that energy is only taken once you draw a card just in case something happens preventing you from getting into battle.

Really Helpful, just a few problems

So, i never wrote reviews for apps, but i felt like i should write one for Lingo Legend.
So, it’s SUPER HELPFUL. Like, I’m learning Japanese on Lingo and I’ve memorised Hiragana and Katakana really well so far, it goes at a steady pace, and if you want, you can make it go faster. The concept of the game is really cool, as i find it much more fun to learn in a game, especially battle and rpg-like games. The small dialogue every once in a while with a storyline, and small events like free rewards every now and then are really helpful. Also it’s a really well animated game with beautiful backgrounds and nice music. I also like that there is a leaderboard, which can show the top players of the game.

Also, it’s really great how there are no ads!

My only complaint would probably be the fact that after a while, the game gives you like 20 energy a day, and usually, the battles take up 10 energy, so you would watch an ad to regain it, but it’s still like, 4 matches a day, and 8 enemies a day, which i was fine with, but recently it’s changed to 15 a day, so i can only play like 2 matches a day with 4 enemies max, which can be quite frustrating to wait a whole day just to complete a path.

I do understand how premium gives you unlimited energy, but it still feels like a bit too little energy, even for free. Also, you can only regain energy once a day, and if you accidentally skip the add for the energy, you can’t rewatch it and you miss your free energy. It’s kind of frustrating.

I’m not saying you should make the energy all free, as then you’d loose your profit. Maybe just change it back to 20?

Also premium is quite expensive, sooo i can’t buy it :(

All in all, a really good game, apart from that one thing :) i don’t want to sound extremely negative when I’m saying the flaws in the game, just a small heads up if you want to play Lingo Legends :D

Hi! Thanks for taking the time to share your experience. It's great to hear you are finding the app helpful for learning Japanese! We are so glad you are having fun. We are still making updates to determine the optimal amount of energy available per day so I appreciate you sharing your feedback. 15 energy per day with the option to watch an ad works out to 6 enemies, which is 3 or more battles depending on how many enemies per battle. Also, thanks for pointing out that you can't rewatch an ad if you skip it, we will update this so you can with our next version release!

TERRIBLE APP (DO NOT USE)

I’ve been trying to learn Japanese! And I keep getting answers wrong, like how am I gonna remember all these hard symbols!!
I can’t get anything right,
I recommend to “NOT” download this app as it’s a waste of time, and very hard to learn anything, even google translate is better then this

Hi there, I am very sorry to hear you are finding the language questions too challenging. There are 3 difficulty settings available in the settings menu (easy, medium, and hard). These settings adjust the number of language cards you'll practice at one time. There is also the option to change the language content if you started on content more challenging than your current level.

Please add more languages

Lingo has got a very large number of languages to learn unfortunately the language I am learning is not there, Russian, due to the current Crisis I see that it would be difficult to find an employee fluent in that language, but it is such a good concept and I would love to play it if it Russia

Response from developer

Hi there, thanks for your feedback. We hope to add as many languages as possible so thanks for sharing your interest in learning Russian!
