Love the game but wish it had more languages

I love the game and I’m learning Spanish while my little brother is learning to spell! My cat not complaint is I wish it had more languages to chose from, I understand it’s brand new so I can’t wait for the future. Love the game keep up the good work!

Thank goodness

I haven’t made it very far in this, but I’m rating it five stars for two reasons; this game does something that I wished every other language app I’ve used does, and there’s a more gamey element that scratches an entertainment itch.

But this actually gives you a brief overview of different grammar rules in the language you’re learning, which actually tells you WHY the language changes pronouns or similar things. It has them as a brief pop up when the rules become relevant, and it’s been helpful so far. Really enjoying this one!

Awesome!

Simple, yet fun and versatile. Highly recommend playing if you are a language learner like me. The best part, IT’S FREE! I appreciate those who make learning things for free. Would give 10 star. Much love and respect to the developers and those who appreciate my review.
Keep on learning.
Good luck.

It seems fun

I want to really like it because it is actually enjoyable and, even if you won’t exactly become fluent, you can definitely learn some vocabulary. My problem is with the energy system. I understand completely that the developers need to make money but surely they can at least allow more ads for energy. As it stands right now, I don’t see how you can even be expected to progress without paying for a subscription which costs more than I can see myself paying for this app.

Not Enough Energy for Non-Members

The game is a fun tool for language learning… but the 20 daily energy (30 total with a single ad watch) is not enough to achieve any meaningful progression. 30 energy a day is not even enough to complete a full stage, with each battle consuming 10 Energy. There can be around 6 battles per stage…which would take 2 days to clear.

The developers clearly want you to buy a subscription or lifetime plan. However, as a free to play language learning app, you can learn soo much more in a few hours with other free apps than you will with 30 energy a day in Lingo Legend. I’d say the game is best used as a quick review app to supplement your studies, but don’t expect to “beat” this game in the same century as a non-member.

Thank you for your review! I am glad you find the game fun and I appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback on the energy system. We are still working out the right balance to ensure the free version is as enjoyable as possible!

Game keeps me interested!

One of the biggest struggles when learning a language is maintaining practice. I love how this app makes it feel like I’m simply playing a game to relax rather than study. This app makes learning fun, and the focuses more on the important first steps of understanding that language.

Great idea with one flaw

I like the app, but I feel like it would be better for everyone if you could just keep watching ads to get more energy. I don’t see myself using this app if I can only do 4 little battles every 24 hours. I feel like letting free users watch ads for energy would let the devs make more money and keep people playing.

Lots of potential

Love the game!
Seems like a great way to stay motivated which has always been my biggest struggle. The gameplay is fun and still feels like a game and I am actually learning. Can’t wait to see the future of this game.
I came from language simp btw ;)

A reason to learn

Instead of learning for solely the language I can now learn just so I can play the game. It gives good motivation for practicing each day.

Great game, but the voice recordings are a little low quality

this is a fun little game with an easy to understand combat system, nice character design & animation, and a good soundtrack. it starts out a little slow, but once you get to the boss called odys, the battles can become a genuine (but not unfair!) challenge, requiring you to tailor your deck to the area you’re in. i enjoyed the gameplay so much at that point that i pretty much blew through the story from odys until the current “end” by playing at work every day. and this is as someone who normally finds card-based combat frustrating!

anyway. at the time, the game used text-to-speech voices. i know that hearing text-to-speech isn’t the ideal way to learn language, but it was serviceable enough. it seems that since then, the japanese course has received real voice recordings... but unfortunately, they can be a little hard to hear. they’re often quiet, distant-sounding, and/or echo-y. i do think it’s a great sign that voice recordings are being added, and i’m sure it’ll get better in the future. but for now, i think that’s something to be aware of, and it’s the reason my review is four stars instead of five.

looking forward to future updates and improvements, and i can’t wait for new story content after the frontier ^^

Hi! It's great to hear you've enjoyed the gameplay so far. The next zone, Dreamlight, will be released this summer! I appreciate you mentioning the quality of the voice recordings as well. We'll be making improvements there. Thanks for taking the time to share your experience and feedback!
