Promising but needs some adds
Obviously the calendar feature is critical. Right now, accepting a meeting invitation is possible with this emClient but… since there is no calendar feature, the event does not actually get put onto any calendar once accepted. This is a problem - don’t accept invitations from this mail client or you risk losing meetings.
But even more importantly, the app needs to refresh in the background. I should always get a notification if I get an email when I’m not looking at my inbox (as Apple Mail and most other email clients do). And, the app’s badge should show me I have X number of new messages, even before I launch it to read those messages. Why should I have to launch the app in order to see if I actually have any new mail? This puts me into “polling” mode which isn’t productive.
Look forward to upcoming enhancements as the UI is very nice and consistent with the desktop app.The potential is there
The only thing missing is the ability to set notification sounds per account. Seriously, that’s it. Otherwise a one-hour test of the app on my phone and iPad pretty much sold me.App is not usable at all
I've been using the PC version of emclient and it's wonderful. It's actually l the best email client for the PC. This ios version on my iPhone 15 pro is horrible... it's so slow getting emails. You see a notification of a new email but when you open up the App, it keeps on spinning and it takes about 15-60 seconds for the new email to show up on the list. So annoying. It also feels that it's always syncing or doing something since the status bar is always active. I can't stand it anymore and will move on to a different app. If they fix the slowness and syncing issues, I can see this being the best email app for ios.Developer Response
Thank you for your review, if you decide to give eM Client another try, can you please try the newest update and see if the issues persist? The iOS app might unfortunately still be slower than the desktop app, as iOS does not allow background sync for 3rd party apps so we can only download the messages once the app is running. But we continue trying to improve this behavior of course.
