In late 2023, the app was full of glitches and the expert advice was not downloading properly. Fast forward to now, and the glitches have been fixed! The weather info has always been amazing and now the app reaches its full potential. More buggy after the update
First let me say that I love Space City Weather. They are a no-hype no sugar coat source of weather information and their blog posts are full of detail on what to expect and why.
But this app is just disappointing. It’s is now 9/1/23 but the app keeps giving me the weather report for 8/8/23. It’s been like that since 8/8 no matter how many times I close and reopen the app which I’ve done many times. I did install the update when they recently put that out for download. I’m thinking maybe I need to uninstall and then maybe try again. I tried to reach out to the developer but have t heard anything back - maybe I didn’t get to the right person, I don’t know.Show lessRocketeer8
Must-Have App for Houston Residents
The original version of the app focused primarily on the daily blog posts which by themselves made this app well-worthwhile, but there was still a need to reference other weather apps for daily / hour-by-hour forecasts. However the recent updates have added all of that functionality, cleared out any minor bugs, and have truly made this a comprehensive app for all things weather in the Houston. The design of this app is clean and elegant. The data source for this app is the best weather information source there is. The push notifications are valuable and make me want to open it and read. The only problem is that I get about 5-10 seconds to read before the app crashes. I can go back and find the app and find the article and read it just fine. It only crashes when entering from the push notification. I’m on a newer phone and latest iOS, so surely I’m not the only one and there’s gotta be a fix.Show lessjasonw754
Love SCW , app is good but crashes if launched from Notification Center
Love the info that SCW provides and the app is mostly great.
Biggest problem is that the app consistently crashes , I mean every time, if you launch the app from a story link that you get from the iOS Notification Center.
Every time, you get about four seconds of viewing the article , then bam back to the Home Screen

No frills forecasts
I really appreciate the straight forward approach these guys have. They don’t try to sensationalize weather forecasting, they just tell us what we need to know accurately and give a common sense approach on what to expect and how to react or deal with weather events. Keep it up!Plug Chunker

I discovered SCW from Ft. Bend County. This site is actually one they utilize. I am so impressed with Space City Weather and Eric and Matt. These guys are absolutely the best and on the money. SCW gets right to the meat of the weather with accuracy and humor and a really accurate forecasting record going back to my first experience with them during Harvey where he nailed itRTR301890
