Fun app! 🧗🏻‍♀️

I downloaded this app after hearing about it on a podcast. So far, I’ve met two people on climbing dates :) Even if the user base is still small, it’s still fun (and funny) to share the app with your climbing buddies since the questions are climbing focused! Thanks for the cool app :)

Can’t change locations

So far the app is pretty good, though a very frustrating issue is when I go to a new location within 7 days I can’t change my location until after a week is up

Hi MClimbs! Boulder doesn't automatically track your location. You're matched with people based on the location you set in your profile. Please edit the location on your profile, and you should begin seeing people in that area! Also, please consider updating your rating here once you verify that works!

Cool concept, not enough people (yet)

If you’re reading this, the app is very smooth and works well. I didn’t see any fake profiles, as all the profiles I saw had pictures of nearby crags and climbing gyms. The only downside is there aren’t yet enough users! I think I swiped through 10 or so profiles before running out of people to swipe through :(.

Bad app

Horrible app so many flaws right from not connecting to Instagram even tho it’s an option says my password is incorrect for login even though I just changed my password so I know it’s right! This app is a waste of your time do not download it it will only frustrate you

Sadly, not too many matches, I’m not sure if it’s the algorithm or just not too many people use the app on the East Coast.

Great idea to have niche market app like this. Love using it, though it could use some fine tuning. Solution? More users, please! Would be great if you join the community. Also, very responsive customer service!

Nice app but..

Super cool app. Nice to see people that I have things in common with.. not always nice to see people I know. Awkward. “Block” button isn’t working. Not sure how else I would block a profile so that I don’t see it again.

Receiving no matches

Nice design but I’m not receiving any matches. Is this a region app? I stayed in El Paso and then San Antonio but nothing happened. Do I need to upgrade?

Lots of fake people from different countries who don’t climb

At first when I joined the app I matched with real climbers - then about two months into the app I began noticing a lot of people who list a city they live in and then upon inquiring, they don’t actually live there. Which made me realize that they are just there to get you to talk to them so that whoever the owners of the app are get the “time spent on app” statistic up. Definitely fake people getting paid or scammers on here. If not, the app would probably die from lack of users 😂.

Good concept though. Too bad you need to pump the user base with fake profiles/ users who aren’t real.

Hi again, I wanted to follow up and update the response to your review with what's changed on Boulder. As you may be aware, selfie verification is now required on Boulder, and verified profiles now have a "Verified" badge on them, so that you can be confident you're talking to a real climber. In addition, there have been backend changes made to ensure that reported users cannot delete their accounts and attempt to create duplicate accounts. The number of reported fake users has decreased significantly since these updates were released. Please reconsider your rating of Boulder, given that this issue is being addressed and there has already been significant improvement. Thank you for being a part of Boulder, and for your patience while we deal with the challenges of a growing platform!
