Hard to manage

Hello. I have just had to spend an hour working out why my app has not been working. It is not an easy process. There needs to be a helpline on phone to and a person on other end to guide seniors through the updates ect. This needs to happen and be a tech expert . Please set this up.
Thanks Tom. Ps my daughter has helped me.

Hi Tom, Glad your daughter was able to assist you. The digital subscription support team can be contacted Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm on 1300 131 095, option 2 for customer service assistance. Hopeless and clumsy

I want to use safari along with my other news articles on different tabs. This always directs me to the new app. I will uninstall it and if I can’t get the webpage up on safari I’ll cancel my subscription. Talk about not giving the customers what they want. You’re a news service not a software developer, you don’t need an app -there are plenty out there.

Good Newspaper to Wrap Hot Fish n Chips or Household Trash

Not happy with our Illawarra Mercury. Full of furniture and electrical product advertisements, letters to the editor are from the same contributors day after day expressing hate or political bias, Green ideology usually lacking scientific facts or the truth, news articles that are not newsworthy. I was very generous giving a one star rating.

Slow, clunky not as good as old app

The app is slow to load to look at whole paper.
If I leave it to look elsewhere and come back I get a blank screen until it re establishes itself.
Have a look at the Daily Telegraph app, much smoother and quicker.

Hi Subscriber, Thank you for your feedback and our developers have been made aware of this. I have tested on the iPad (5th Generation) on iOS 16.3.1 and it is loading the articles and interactive puzzles and the Digital replica of Todays editions fine. I can only suggest to ensure your background apps are closed and see if the issue continues. Otherwise I would try reinstall the App. Feel free to contact the support team on 1300 131 095, option 2

New app has a downside

The new Illawarra Mercury app opens the newspaper as a double page spread in my device. This is unreadable on my device, as the print is too small. When I try to zoom in to increase the page size, I often find I’m directed to one particular story - when I want the whole page. After I am funnelled to one story, I cannot find my place back to the page I was on. All in all the new app is annoying ..

Hi Subscriber, The new App is more refined for viewing and content access. To zoom in, using your thumb and index finger you can stretch out to zoom on the article and pinch motion to minimize again. The single tap is a new layout option and you can revert back to the paper view with a tap on the icon on the bottom right. Please contact the support team on 1300 131 095 Option 2 if you are still have concerns with the new App

Poor performance and major inconvenience!

Reading stories through the app, no issue at all, it’s perfect!
But try to read a story posted on Facebook, nothing! It prompts me to subscribe (I already do), so I login only to be booted out back to Facebook and told I need a subscription again and am no longer able to open the story at all! Prior to this happening, it was just the annoying inconvenience of having to login everytime I wanted to read a story on Facebook, now I can’t even login. I don’t use the app to read the paper, I read the ones that peak my interest in my Facebook feed, if I can’t do that, there’s no need for me to pay for a subscription when I can get the same stories for free from ABC News Illawarra
