Reviews of Ride iQ

  • Service is great. App could use improvements

The service is fabulous. Lessons are good, the selection is broad. The way that I use it is to ride a skill lesson a few times and then during my in person lesson, I talk about what was easy and what was hard and with eyes on the ground, I am able to work on the skill. I can honestly say my riding has improved. I have favorite rides I have done MANY times. This is money well spent.

The app has been stagnant though. I’d like to see improvements in the organization of collections (ability to reorder for example). I’d like to see a recommended ride section based on what to try next. There’s a lot that could be done to improve the app.
  • Something to know before you start

I was a skeptic. I don’t love subscriptions and I didn’t trust there was enough value I could get from audio lessons. I decided to throw caution to the wind when I saw a FB post about the free trial and I’m not exaggerating when I say it’s been life changing. I now believe audio lessons will change this sport at large. To be able to ride with a top rider in my ear as my copilot, giving me all the structure and reminders I need while sharing training insights to make me a better horse person, has totally transformed my experience. It turns out so much of what I struggled with during my independent rides was just a result of my lack of understanding. Now my rides are positive and I feel like I’m doing right for my horse and myself. This is a subscription I’m a super fan of. If you’re on the fence, give it a go!
  • Hesitant at first, now I use it all the time

I used this all the time over the trial period but wasn’t sure I wanted to spend the extra money since I am in a full time training program. However, after a month of not having RideIQ, I went back and paid for a subscription because I found it to be super helpful on those days I don’t have a lesson but am stuck inside due to the weather. The knowledge gained is well worth the cost.
