  • Love it

I love the concept! After swiping, which gave me the feel of a dating app but with food recipes and hacks, I loved it considering I am a foodie. It’s an awesome way to share your own recipes and hacks as well. After using it I’ve been able to learn home recipes from different cultures that I would not be exposed to otherwise. The other + was that there were food place recs. The only feature that seems to be missing is being able to connect with other creators on the app (if you have questions about their recipe, want to connect about the place Rec etc).

  • Love this app but a bit confused.

I think the idea of this app is amazing. The design and layout is lovely. I’ve been using it a few days and enjoy updating my dishes as well has finding new ones from others. However, I haven’t matched with anyone, or had anyone swiped on me. And all the people’s cards I see are the same 5 users. I’m not sure what to do beside look at people’s dishes or what happens if we match. Maybe there’s more to it in the paid version?

  • Great app if you’re a foodie or love to cook

I love that with this app I get to make use of all the food pics taking up my iCloud storage space! I have so much fun making food cards to share with other users. On another note, it’s a great way to connect with other food lovers near me. I like the variety of food-based content I get when I use the app. Not only do I see dishes that I’m inspired to try, but also I get food tips/tricks that are super informative. I get to learn cool things that I can apply to my recipes. I appreciate the diversity of food cards and snaps. A lot of different types of cuisine are shown on the platform. My only major suggestion for improvement is that there could be more info and instructions on how some of the features work like the Yum feature, and how to get matches. With the app being very new I’m sure it’ll improve and evolve. I’m excited to continue using the app as it grows!

  • Great app for Foodies!

The HowUdish app is a great app
For foodies! I love the swipe feature as you can quickly go through several food snaps and find ideas for dishes to make as well as ideas for places to eat based on the photos. You can select the distance so you can only see snaps that are within a set number of miles from you. I like that you can forward a card to a friends phone or email. The kitchen tricks are really neat as well. The food snaps are great for when you’re not sure what to make for dinner and generates so many great ideas! The only suggestion I can think of is at some point, it would be nice if a food snap could include a more info button to link to the recipe. I look forward to using this app often!

  • This is a great idea!

I’ve been using HowUdish for a few days now and I’ve enjoyed it. The app is easy to use and it’s a great way to connect with people who enjoy the same food as me. I also really like the food hacks because they’re interesting and helpful.

Pros Although there are still very few people on the platform, I already saw different posts that are really interesting. For a mom like me who loves to cook, flipping through the tips and hacks can give me some ideas about what to cook or make. I also like the idea of connecting with fellow foodies, so I look forward to having more people in the app. The app is so easy to use!

Cons: I can’t find the back or home button once I navigate out of the default page. It’s difficult to swipe a post with one hand. I’m using a wide phone and I find it hard to swipe a card with my thumb while holding the iphone in my hand. I wish the flipping was a bit more sensitive. Also, some text posts are boring. I think it needs some designs/templates ready for use in case someone just wants to post a text.

Also, I wish there was a home button that will let me see cards I’ve “yummmed” so I can revisit them anytime I want. I’m also having difficulty finding my own posts. Also, allowing very short videos, music or sound clips would be great too.

  • Tinder for Foodies 🤩

Honestly, this is a great idea. Swipe right for food you want to eat and recipes you want to talk about! I’m moving to a bigger city soon (where I will know no one except for my wife) and I already know this app will be a lifesaver. It will keep me cooking and help me find friends! We try to cook together but usually scroll miles through Pinterest to find one good recipe — I found one every other swipe on this app! And the design is overall solid. Very professional and aesthetically pleasing. Deserves 5 stars no doubt!

  • Fun app

I love the idea behind this app. I love the sharing of food pictures and recipe hacks. I am certain when there are more users of the app your homepage becomes more interesting because you have a variety. I wish that it wasn’t solely based on your location. I think this is a great choice when you are looking for a food based social media. I use social media a lot throughout my days. A few things I would like to see is a double tap action for the yummm selection of a card because that is the most common “I like this” across most social media platforms. I also think that the dragging of the cards takes too much. I have an iPhone 12 Pro Max and I had to start at the top of my screen and drag it all the way to the bottom. Doing this over and over is tiresome after a while. I think there is a glitch because I was unable to change my birthday. I also strongly believe that if you are creating an inclusive platform that you should have more than just male and female as gender options. The last thing is that I think the graphics when you go to create a card are AMAZING but the icons on the bottom are a bit hard to see making it confusing to look at for selection. Definitely keeping the app, looking forward to improvements!

Great app that allows you to share you favorite foods and recipes, as well as learn from others’ posts about cooking ideas! Perfect app for busy people who find themselves making the same foods over and over again, because what you will find when exploring the app will be sure to inspire you to try new foods and recipes out!

  • Great for foodies

Upon downloading the app, I was given the rundown of what the app has to offer before signing up. I appreciate when apps do this so I can know what I am getting into before actually making an account (which was very easy to do on this app). One of my favorite parts is that you can make your own “food cards” and share your own personal recipes with everyone else on the app. It’s basically a social media for foodies! The first food card I saw, I said “yum” and when I went to go like the food card, that’s exactly what came up, “yummmm”. Love that! It’s like you’re on a dating app for people who you know EXACTLY what they like to do—cook, eat, the whole nine. I’m looking forward to using this app in the future because I’m a huge foodie and love discovering new recipes! Making a food card is so easy I definitely recommend this app if you love food, and who doesn’t love food, right?

  • A good app but needs some tweaking

I really loved the concept I just had a few notes.

1)there is some confusion with the yum function vs the swipe right function. I don’t know if they’re supposed to indicate the same thing and if so, why are there two separate functions for that one thing? It would be nice to have a tutorial in the settings or profile sections to refer to that explain the difference.

2)I would like the opportunity to scroll through people’s posts when visiting their profile, similar to Instagram. Or maybe make that an in-app purchase to incentivize.

3)I would maybe like the ability to edit photos in the app. Nothing too crazy but sometimes the photo is darker due to the text overlay.

4)I had a hard time finding any actual recipes. Would be nice if there was an “expand” option where people click on the photo and get the recipe if one is available.
