Put £5 into account (as that’s the minimum) to send a 48p message. You don’t get notified whether the message has been read or not. I emailed the company who runs the app but not heard anything in over a week.
Don’t bother, write a letter instead.

We are sorry to hear you have had a bad experience with the app. As we are not linked to the prison service we would be unable to know when your recipient has received your message, as the majority of establishments print and hand deliver the messages. You are notified when the message has been delivered to the prison. Our support team reply to all messages in a time and date order, within two working days wherever possible - if they had received your enquiry they would have responded. Please do email support@unilink-technology-services.com and someone will respond and assist you.

We are sorry to hear you are having issues with MFA codes, this security option can be disabled under your account if required - or contact the support desk and they can assist you. They can also advise re the phone calls.

Hi, this sounds as though you have not yet activated your account. You would be notified via the app that your email has not yet been verified. We send a welcome email with a verification link when you first set up your account. If you need this email resent please contact our support team who can action this for you.

Hi, we are sorry that you had such a poor experience with our app on your device. We ahve made changes to those screens now to allow a greater proportion of the scrollable area to be seen on smaller devices. If you are able to update to 1.3.3 we hope that you have a much better experience.
