  • Problem solved!

I thought there was an issue that would have made this app unusable but it’s a very simple fix. 99% of the time I use Fakespot for Amazon, but you can’t click on Amazon without opening the Amazon app.
Well if you click the share button at the top right of the page you’ll see something that says “analyze with Fakespot” and then it’ll show you the rating IN THE AMAZON APP. So much better than the old website. Note to Fakespot: PUT THIS IN YOUR HOW TO USE FAKESPOT. You’re losing people because they don’t know how to use it!!!
  • poorly designed

Instructions are a few slides that don't tell you how to use the product at all. I am no idiot, but there literally aren't any buttons to do anything!

I understand that it's designed for iPad, but I don't have one, so I tried it on macbook and iPhone.

Apparently there are only about 5 sites it works on...

    Deleted!
  • Just doesn’t work

It just doesn’t work. Mine froze and even if I closed/reopened it, it was frozen on one page. I’ve deleted and redownloaded, and it still doesn’t work.

  • Zero stars

I love what Fakespot offers but this app is not it. In its current form, it is completely useless for the purpose I downloaded it - to analyze product reviews. What I thought I was getting was an app that would show up in the iOS Share Sheet so that from any other app, I could share a product link directly to Fakespot - similar to how PricePulse works. That is not the case here.

When I open the app, there is a search bar to enter terms or a url. There was a product I wanted analyzed from Amazon, so I went to the Amazon app, tapped Share, and had to copy the link - (more manual than I’d like, but wouldn’t be a big deal if it actually worked once it’s opened in Fakespot…). I pasted that in the search/url bar in Fakespot. It took me to a Google search for the item. When I tapped on the relevant Amazon link, it opened the Amazon app! Apps can’t add features to other apps, so of course there wasn’t anything from Fakespot on the Amazon page. There’s no option to NOT open Amazon links in the app, so I’m assuming I’d have to uninstall Amazon for Fakespot to work, and that’s just ridiculous.

Idk who the folks are who are rating this 4 and 5 stars - it’s a zero from me.
  • Once you choose a browser, can’t get back!

Just downloaded this. Chose Google as browser, chose products. Nothing. No guidance, no feedback and most of all, I can’t figure out how to get the info that this app is designed to give. Not intuitive. Can’t get back to the original menu. I see Fakespot in the left hand upper corner, which lets you know you’re in the app. But that’s it. Deleted.

I’m not going to spend a lot of time figuring out an app. It either works for me or it doesn’t. Disappointing. I’ve been looking for this very tool for a long time.
  • Missing features.

Missing browser extension features at Amazon that sorts by fakespot grade. Can’t see see the grade until you click on the product.
  • Trying to be a browser replacement

You have to browse in this app instead of it working like an extension
  • Useless

I downloaded the app for the purpose of verifying reviews on Amazon. Once downloaded, Amazon wasn’t even listed as one of the channels. I clicked on how to use and it was useless. Didn’t tell me anything. Deleted app.
  • Not an extension

They use words like “Browser Extension” and “Fakespot for Safari”, but all the links are to this app, which requires you to browse with this app, not with the Safari browser. If there is an actual iOS Safari extension that comes with it, it is extremely well hidden. If not, it is just false advertising. I want to do my Web browsing with Safari, not with a web view in another app. Why not release a real Safari extension, instead of co-opting that language for an app that is not Safari at all?!?
  • Less functionality

No landscape mode on iPad. No “sort by Fakespot grade” like desktop browser plug-in

    Developer Response

Hi 3glot, Thank you for your feedback. We will be updating the iPad version soon to include landscape mode and will be updating the app continuously to include more of our desktop extension features. Best Fakespot
