Still no change
Hundreds of people have already talked about the issues with the app, from the terrible interface to the app refusing to load quite often. For me, it loads less than half the time. However, I need to point out how these problems have been stated YEARS ago, and the last time this app got a patch was 2 years ago. That is insane. UF, what are you doing??? Get it together and update this glitchy nightmare that so many people rely on!
Edit: I just found out about NaviGator, and I can’t believe anybody still uses this app when there is a perfectly functional version of it. If you hate this app, get NaviGator. Your in luck if it actually works
Great concept if it actually worked. I think it currently has a 95% non-usage for me. As in, 95% of the times I have tried using it (everyday) it doesn’t actually load and I need to keep clicking refresh (which does nothing asides from just popping the message back again). TransLoc wasn’t as detailed, but it ALWAYS worked. I’ll take a working app over this mess any day. Please just give us a working app. Doesn’t need to be fancy, doesn’t need to have 5 different map options. Just a reliable bus tracker.Show lessstewells
Broken and takes the whole bus system down with (SEE EDIT)
This app has been saying that the “server had a weak connection” since about September. I’ve been on data plans, several different people’s WiFi, even the WiFi at the actual bus depot… nothing. The app is broken. Additionally, it’s the only reliable way to know if a bus is coming to a stop any time soon. The official schedule online is often wrong, and Google maps goes off of the official schedule online. PLEASE FIX THE APP.
Edit: I deleted it and reinstalled it, and that fixed it. Only bumped to 3 stars since that shouldn’t be necessary and I know several other people have had this same issue, but 1 star isn’t fair.Show lessoceangator23
Easily the worst app of all time
Out of any app that i’ve ever used, this is by far the worst one and it’s not even close. There are more bugs and glitches than actual features on this app, and they made it the least user friendly possible. The app almost never works as intended and has caused me to be late multiple times due to its unreliability. The bus times are only sometimes accurate if you’re lucky enough to even get the app to load. Unfortunately there isn’t a better alternative and we are stuck with this.Show lessKmhnkhjn
NOT BAD
I am taking time out of my day to rate this app highly after seeing all these negative reviews, this app is great. This app has a 1.1 star rating, lower than superior towing’s google rating and that boggles my mind, as this app tells you exactly where the busses are with only minor inconvenience. One of the most glaring issues with this app is how on occasion is completely breaks and is unusable, making you go off of stop times which are totally unreliable. This app allows you to see when your bus is arriving and uses low data allowing me to use it even when on reduced speed data. As long as you don’t zoom in too much and a few bugs (features) this app does exactly what it is meant to do!Show lessrtsappisgreat
App is either bad or awful
The app is super poorly designed and not user friendly at all.
It’s very particular with how you click on stuff - like, within a single pixel. Not helpful at all for an app on a touch screen device. You can only see the 3 next buses coming to a stop, or the next 3 stops a specific bus (by vehicle number) will make. If you’re in an area where lots of buses pass, or an area where a few routes run more frequently than others, you’ll have a hard time figuring out when the next bus YOU need specifically will be coming by.
The app frequently doesn’t work at all. It worked fine (well, as fine as it could be, which isn’t great) for me in spring 2023, but now in fall 2023, it doesn’t work at all. It says there’s a “connectivity error” on every wi-fi I’ve tried, on my personal cellular data (which is excellent), and on all devices (iPhone, iPad, my friends’ iPhones, etc).
Genuinely bad app. I’ve been late multiple times because of it despite leaving early. Buses sometimes just don’t run (I guess the driver has to go on break legally, so the bus you thought was coming to you will pass you saying “out of service” with no warning). It’s so bad. But the only other options are the RTS schedule, which is frequently inaccurate, or Google Maps, which is based off of the RTS schedule.Show lessy2kat
Could be better. Must be better!
It’s astounding how useless an app could be at providing slow, inaccurate, and unreliable services for its users. In my 6 years of living in Gainesville, it’s the single most unreliable app I have had on my phone. For some reason the cities transportation system can never nail a good service that delivers. Either the app doesn’t load, doesn’t show accurate bus routes, crashes, has bugs, or fails to register what I click. You’re better off going to a bus stop blind not knowing when you’ll be picked up.Show less_Alex_R
Barely functional for an app with an important purpose
If I could give this app 0 stars, I would. It crashes all the time and when I try to open it back up after, it won’t ever load; I end up having to delete the app and redownload after each time I close it or it crashes.
Overall, this app is not user-friendly. RTS used to have a different app for bus routes and tracking, and I’m incredibly disappointed with this poor replacement. I hope this new app receives necessary improvements in the future.Show lessijustwannabeagoodnoodle
It works— until it doesn’t.
This app has helped me navigate on campus as there isn’t a central list of what buses run what routes (and where those routes go) that’s available. Honestly though, I’d rather have a paper map with me in some cases. This app is convenient when it works, but I’ve had so many instances where it’ll tell me that a bus is coming when that bus never shows, because the route planner seems to work based off of a fixed schedule and not real-time conditions (construction, delays, etc.) Similarly, I’ve been stranded when I’ve tried to use the app and the app crashes completely, forcing me to delete and reinstall. More often than not, it’s more convenient to WALK back to campus after sorting through the mess of getting to your destination because I already know the route back.Show lessAnyaTN
Doesn’t work in the most inconvenient times
You’d think despite all the bad reviews, they would do something about the issues and it’s still the same and possibly even worse. The way I’d make this app work is by deleting it and reinstalling each time I get an error. These few weeks I’ve been trying to do that and It doesn’t even get past the first screen.
