So far, not bad but content needs consistency

I’m glad I found an app where I can learn my native Nigerian language & I’m loving the content so far. There a couple issues I’ve noticed though like the spelling/dialects are not consistent. For example with Igbo, “Sit down” was introduced as “noro ala” then later in a separate course it becomes “nodu ala”. This doesn’t throw me off because I know there are different dialects but others might get confused. Another example is the match quiz in lesson one. How are you can both be “Kedu ki mere” and “Kedu ka idi” but only one of those are accepted as correct & it’s not the version that was thought in the course.

I’m also not sure how this Igbo tutor chat works but it doesn’t look like there are any live tutors.

Response from developer

Hi, Thank you so much for your feedback! We're thrilled to hear that you're enjoying learning your native Nigerian language with our app. We appreciate you pointing out the inconsistencies with the spelling and dialects. Both "noro ala" and "nodu ala" mean "sit down" and are part of the Standard Igbo Dialect. We understand that such variations can be confusing, but this variation occurs based on the contextual structure and so we use both versions in our lessons. Regarding the quiz in lesson one, "Kedu ka idi?" (How are you?) and "Kedu ka I mere?" (How are you doing?) are both correct phrases taught in the lessons. This is a small difference and so the correct answer is set accordingly. For the tutor chat, we apologize for any inconvenience. Tutors operate on a first-come, first-serve basis due to the high volume of queries. However, you can request a specific time to chat with a tutor via text and audio messages. Feel free to request time, and they will do their best to accommodate. Thanks again for your valuable input. We're committed to improving your learning experience! Best regards.

Crashes

I really wanted this to go well. Didn’t get the chance to watch not one video. It crashes and send me to my phone’s main screen as soon as I click on the introduction video.

Response from developer

Hello, We apologize for the negative experience you had when you first downloaded the app. Please note that the app did not support iOS 18 at that time and hence it was crashing on devices running iOS 18. We have since added support for iOS 18 and fixed the crash, along with cool new features for our users. Please give the app another try, share your valuable feedback, and allow us to make your experience better and better as we grow together. Regards, NKENNE Support

So good but it’s missing something

So basically I’m from Ghana and I speak Ewe and I was hoping to learn my language because I’m still young so developers please add more African languages including Ewe but so I don’t have to learn twi

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback! We appreciate your interest in learning Ewe. We’re working on adding more African languages to our app, including Ewe. Stay tuned for updates!

Good

When I started using this app I was kinda disappointed because there was no kinyarwanda option, and I'm pretty sure Rwanda is in Africa but if I'm wrong then sorry. Anyway this is a pretty good app afterall but I didn't need it anymore so I deleted it.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback! We’re sorry Kinyarwanda wasn’t available when you used the app. We’re constantly adding new languages, and your input helps us improve. We hope you’ll give us another try in the future!

Received politically biased email

I downloaded your app because the youngsters in our house wanted to use it to learn African languages. Your email stamped 23 January concerning political bias about the Middle East is incredibly inappropriate for a platform that children and teens can use. You should be clear on the intention of your application. Is it a neutral language learning tool, or a media house choosing to share politically biased views?

Thank you for your feedback. We apologize for any confusion. Our app is solely focused on providing a neutral language learning experience, and we do not send politically leaning emails. Your feedback is important to us, and we’ll ensure our communications remain appropriate for all users.

needs work

medase but this app has too much wahala for it to be a paid app. i use a free app that's more extensive in twi, feel like i wasted my money because it's giving me the same words i got before i paid

First day

Interface is ok but app is slow responding and certain buttons don’t work. Would prefer different English accent. Overall very grateful for so but could definitely use some updates to smoothen the process

Response from developer

We thank you for your concerns. We have put this into consideration, and have implemented changes to elevate the user flow. We welcome all forms of criticism, because we want to make sure we help elevate your language learning experience. Daalu.
