  • Lost everything in this game

After I had accidentally deleted this game I tried many things to get my original data back I tried to sign in to the Squat Enix membership and used my Apple ID but says it’s failed so I deleted the app 3 times in hopes of fixing it and getting my original account back. Nothing works and now my year of hard grinding and work has been there for nothing I thought I putted my Apple ID so it can be transferred so I thought the last thing to do is to delete my account and try again yet it doesn’t work I’m so disappointed and upset right now that they haven’t done this sooner now I don’t know what else to do to get my account back if anyone is reading this make sure you double check that you have your data backed up if you accidentally delete this game. I still love this game but it doesn’t mean I’m going to start over with my new account and I still yet to figure out to get my original account back.

  • The best mobile RPG out there

I’m afraid this game might be a bit too underrated, and hope Square won’t end it anytime soon. It is just as good as the mainline Octopath games, and in some ways, even better, with a very dark, meaty storyline and expanded 8-person parties. The turn-based combat is incredibly strategic and it’s satisfying to defeat seemingly insurmountable bosses. In fact, it might be a bit too challenging at times, which might deter some people from sticking with the game. Movement is intuitive and you won’t miss a controller due to it being on-rails, with simple swipe gestures. The premium currency for the gacha is very expensive, but you can get all the good characters even as a f2p player with some foresight and planning. They implemented monthly passes which give reasonable rewards for cheap, and you might feel compelled to support the devs after playing through some of the storyline.

  • #MARVELOUS~!

It has been more than a year since I have volunteered creating the Meta Community for this game, and oh boy did I see almost every rant about it. But let me tell you, they never yielded and still delivered even with all the hiccups. I do understand that this is simply them porting the game after some translations, but not closing the server even with a suboptimal revenue? They did the game justice!

Thank you for delivering this masterpiece! The music direction, graphics, nostalgic gameplay, and even the collective experience that doesn’t shout at you that every new unit is a must have. Raher, it shows you that if he character connects with you, rolling for them is well worth it. Heck, I even pitied a character because her VO is Rie Takahashi’s, another because he’s a gambling addict of an old man. Both even got their highlights throughout my play through be it in farming or in trials!

Fun game, worth your time, and don’t forget to listen to all heir banger of a soundtrack!

  • A MARVELOUS, clever “best-of” RPG

This is the first review I’ve written, but with over 70 hours in this game, I feel it’s warranted.

It’s a solid little gacha RPG. The story is shockingly good- although my favorite is the first “Wealth” storyline. There’s a lot of hours you can put in this game, the combat is really fun and engaging, the gacha mechanic feels really fair. I play this game every day. I haven’t gotten to the most current storyline yet, but I love this game. The graphics are charming, the soundtrack is catchy and endearing. I don’t have really anything negative to say about this game.

Most of all, the combat is very unique. I’ve never played the OCTOPATH games, so I don’t know if it’s similar, but I really enjoy the style. This is a great game, so give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed.

  • Get the console version

The game looks great, and I really enjoy the graphics and 3D/2D environment. The combat system is intuitive, and there’s definitely a lot to do. But the biggest, most fun ruining issue I have with this game is: crashing. It crashes a LOT and more than a few times the game has crashed RIGHT AT THE END OF A LONG BOSS FIGHT I’ve been working on for a half hour. This is a game that takes real world currency, and I am really not inclined to spend money on a game that might literally spaz out and take my money, but then crash before rewards are rendered. It’s very annoying, and I’ve only put a few bucks into it, but the crashing issue makes me hesitant to spend a penny more. Just get the console version and stick with that, it won’t crash as often and you’re getting a much better experience with the OCTOPATH franchise.

  • MARVELOUS

I’ve never written an App Store review in 10 years of mobile game. But I just wanted to say that OCTOPATH Travelers of the Continent is a great experience. For being a mobile game it’s story and attention to some small details make it enjoyable for what it is. This is free content, I played the main story without any purchases. With that in my I had to write something because as they state when you load this game it’s a single player experience which for mobile gaming can be less lucrative in terms of monetary gain. But perhaps this iteration was just made on the side as advertisement to lead people to the main series. Whatever the case my only complaint is the lack of challenge scaling early on. For example if the first main story the player chooses gets them to around level 25. Then instead of that being the case for most of the stories have the subsequent main stories scale to maintain challenge. However early on the main attraction is supposed to be the dialogue anyways, but I could see some people who are more here for the gameplay lose interest early on if they’re just breezing through fights thinking it’s not gonna get harder. Regardless I think this is worth its price (your time) and has definitely made me want to purchase the main series soon.

  • Great game

This is a very well structured RPG experience. On top of that there tons of content that only gets more challenging as you progress. I give it 4 stars only because you have to draw characters for awakening stones that enhance your characters and I’m not really a fan of making a core part of the game contingent on the gacha aspect of the game. This is somewhat remedied though by the game giving you a free gift of 10 rubies everyday, getting them as quest/arena rewards & the dev team giving out hefty numbers of rubies during events. Even still though you’ll find yourself hesitant to use them as you never know if the next draw event will have a better character. Despite all this you could play the game with whatever characters as they are all quite strong, so the rubies don’t have to be a make or break factor.

  • Started, quit, then returned and loving it

Severa months ago I wrote an initial review and didn’t favor this game too highly. Now that I played since day 1 for 3 months then took off 2 months, I have returned and have been playing for several months.
The pros to this game are still what I listed in my earlier review, namely the story and its adult-elements, the wide variety of usable units, and the slow but frequent incremental updates.
I originally gave some more weight to the negative aspects, especially the banner costs and monetization of the game to be pay to win. Since then, banners seem more reasonable with their step-ups, but the cost for the rubies is still very high compared to other games like WOTV and GI.

I recommend this game for free to play at this time and hope that the developers make more robust changes to crystal purchases and free-ruby step ups. The last Nier Collab only had a paid ruby step up, unfortunately. This is not worth it for free to play accounts. But their are general pool step ups for free ruby pulls.

All in all, I give it 4/5 and recommend if you want a game to spend 10 minutes+ on per day.

  • Great game! You should try it out!

I downloaded this game mostly because I was bored with the ones I was already playing and I was quite shocked at how amazing this game is. I’m mostly play open world games, I don’t usually play pixelated games like this but when I downloaded and started ri play, it surprised me with how good the game is. The story line first is amazing! Especially when you have three story lines to choose from and can switch back and fourth, second the characters are well designed too. The fight scenes are easy and interesting, the graphics are amazing too and plus you have many towns to go too and side quests you can do. For now since I’m still new to the game I havnt seen any bugs or glitches, and it saves everything automatically too! So, I’m really impressed with this game, other games I tried out like this one I wasn’t impressed with but this one, by far is the most interesting game I’ve played.
