Very well done with a fatal, unplayable flaw

Great game: fun, informative, thoughtful, great characters and story. But the design choice of once you “fail” a level you have to restart at the beginning makes this largely unplayable. I’d recommend avoiding this game until/if this design decision is changed. Far too frustrating.

Hi, thanks for your feedback on the game! We’re happy to let you know a new shortcut system has now been added so you don’t have to start again after losing. We hope you’ll update the game and let us know what you think about this new update, thank you!

An ok game, pretty generic game, but there’s no save points

Desta: The memories between is a great game. Beautiful art style, great soundtrack, and good game mechanics of throwing a ball back and forth. Throughout the whole experience I did notice one thing that was a little bit frustrating, save points.

Saving is a great way to progress your game even when others need to take a break. So when I back out of this game, I have to start all over again even if it means repeated dialogue which I annoyingly have to skip to get to where I needed to be.

Also when I have to abandon a dream when either my characters are in a tight situation, it just cuts the whole experience for me, and it does feel like this is a rage quit game than a normal chill game. So, maybe an update on this would be great for this fix.

LOVED IT

love the inclusiveness and I especially loved the “LIBERAL CRAP GETTING SHOVED DOWN MY THROAT” why are you getting emotional, they’re pronouns kys<3

Interesting game.

Imagine being so easily triggered that you can’t stand the idea that people might want to play games you don’t.

My teenaged daughters and I played this together and really enjoyed it. Very atmospheric, unique and, with an open mind, fun!

Beautiful and fun…the first 12 times.

So I love this game. It’s beautiful, the battles are challenging and fun, and the story is well written. That said, the fact that it starts you back at the very beginning EVERY time you lose one match gets pretty old, especially when it’s also the same dialogue. Even Mario gives you three bites at the apple. One wrong move and you don’t restart the level, you restart the game. Yes, that make the game feel insurmountable, but what also stinks is that’s not how “working through things”, the whole narrative of the game, works either. Yes, hard self-work stinks, and sometimes you fail, but you NEVER go back to zero…

I’ll hold off playing more until something shifts here. Its hard to rebuild friendships and reframe your mindset, I’m not interested in starting over every time I make a misstep.
