All Versions of Neural Cloud

1.6.0

June 12, 2024

The new version 1.6.0 is out! [New Event] Featuring a new major event, a collaboration between Project Neural Cloud and Steins;Gate: “Retrocausal Trie Interference” A new event is coming to Magrasea! Take part to receive a 3-star collaboration Doll and lavish rewards! Thanks to an intersection in time and space, a virtual realm receives visitors from beyond. As a building that looks completely different from anything in the Oasis suddenly appears out of nowhere, you will encounter friends from another world who trigger a string of incidents in the Oasis. Together, you will explore the unknown path that lies ahead of you. The twelve covenants that transcend space-time, the interferers from beyond the bounds; all these are the choice of Steins’ Gate. [New Location] [The Future Gadgets Laboratory] This is a mysterious research facility from Akihabara in the 2010s, containing large amounts of old furniture as well as strange Future Gadgets. According to Okabe Rintaro, this is a research organization aimed at developing all manner of advanced technological devices, but the truth is that it’s closer to a science-themed social club. Due to an accident with a certain Future Gadget, the Laboratory is transported to Magrasea by pure coincidence. [New characters] Okabe Rintaro, Makise Kurisu and Shiina Mayuri [Okabe Rintaro] Okabe Rintaro comes from Akihabara in 2010. He is a freshman in Tokyo Denki University. He styles himself as the mad scientist “Hououin Kyouma”, fighting a never-ending battle against the “Organization” which rules the world from the shadows, but which only exists in his delusions. His catchphrase is “El Psy Kongroo”. Further investigation indicates that this person suffers from “chuunibyou/8th-grader syndrome”, which causes him to litter his speech with made-up terms from Norse mythology and urban legends. In both intellect and physique, Okabe Rintaro seems little different from an ordinary undergrad. He has founded the “Future Gadgets Laboratory” with his friends, where his internal designation is LabMem No. 001. Due to an accident, he has crossed over to the world of Magrasea. [Makise Kurisu] Makise Kurisu comes from Akihabara in 2010. She studies at the Viktor Chondria University. Kurisu went abroad to study in the US at 11, managing to skip grades and graduate early by virtue of her intellect. At 18, she published a thesis in a scientific journal. She is currently a researcher in her university’s neuroscience department and is an unquestioned girl genius. Kurisu is slender in appearance and gives the impression of being a calm rationalist, but the truth is that she is highly curious, enjoys experimenting and verifying her theories, and is highly passionate about science. After meeting Okabe and witnessing one of his experiments, she is press-ganged into joining the Future Gadgets Laboratory as LabMem No. 004. Due to an accident, she has crossed over to the world of Magrasea. [Shiina Mayuri] Shiina Mayuri comes from Akihabara in 2010. She is a sophomore at the Private Hanaasagi University Affiliated Academy. She is kind and easygoing by nature and always has a smile on her face. Her social skills are such that she can get close to anyone in short order. Her speech patterns are quite unique, such as her catchphrase of “Tuturu~” and so on. In addition, while Mayuri might seem laid-back and relaxed, she is actually quite athletic. She enjoys making cosplay outfits as a hobby. While she is a high-schooler who doesn’t seem to have any connection to science and research at all, she was one of the founding members of the Future Gadgets Laboratory and her designation there is LabMem No. 002. Due to an accident, she has crossed over to the world of Magrasea.

[New Event] Neural Cloud Major Event [Perilous Advancement] New event now available! Participate to acquire rich rewards and new Dolls! A lurking traitor launches their assault, and the Exiles' nerve center falls into peril! After being devastated by the railgun, the Oasis hangs onto survival by a thin thread. With a mighty foe ahead and their home behind them, the Professor must dissect the situation and devise a stratagem to find a sliver of hope for the Oasis. Bolster each other in your travels, but remember well the departed. Under a world of pressure we strive, as the horizon's final light dawns. [Old City, New Look] Fractured Board [Exile-Garrisoned Sector, Oasis] The home base of the "Exiles", the Oasis serves as their foundation as well as spiritual backbone. The sector is often led by the Professor themselves, while Persicaria and other Dolls attend to their duties towards the continued function of the sector. While the Professor temporarily departs from the Oasis to lend their assistance to Rossum, the Oasis is bombarded by the High-Density Operand Railgun, and is grievously damaged. The Professor stalls the greatest threat to the Oasis while another formidable and mysterious foe approaches. How will Persicaria, in charge of the Oasis, bear this burden? What decisions will she have to make so that everyone will be safe? [System Improvements] - New story, Algorithms, and enemies New Algorithms and their Collection Zones have been unlocked, ready for the arrival of new adversaries. With a honed edge and sharp mind, prepare for even greater challenges! - Gameplay Optimizations After such long periods of companionship and camaraderie, the trust and understanding between the Professor and their friends only deepens. More combat missions can now be quickly assigned. "Vulnerability Check" and "Fault Protocol" improvements will be making their way onto the Cloud, and the "Sapience Expansion Program" as well as the "Factory"'s usage processes will receive optimizations as well. Every department of the Oasis strides forwards for the sake of a better future! [Two new Dolls] Lind & Horizon [Lind] The UL-SD was a Doll used for clinical trials developed by Ultilife. The project's goal was to reproduce various human organ and tissue groups to simulate an actual human being for the purpose of undergoing clinical trials and providing data for researchers. Test Subject SIC-012 "Lind" was the first satisfactory unit. Not only did she possess a tremendously life-like semi-organic biosynthetic exterior, she even possessed fully-detailed cerebral structures that other Dolls could not match, to the point where Lind was even eligible to undergo certain psychiatric experiments. For the sake of the company's operations, all experiments regarding this Doll model were strictly classified by Ultilife. [Horizon] Working in conjunction with many high-end artistic and design educational institutions across the globe, the UA-ID is a project helmed by Universal Anything Services, targeted at producing commercial Dolls for use in the field of modern interior design. This project's aim is to overcome the limitations of human beings in the development of artistic aesthetics, as well as attempt to integrate art styles from different regional cultures and consumer classes in order to deliver an iterative series of outputs and provide a variety of solutions to improve the quality of life for different grades of users. Horizon is a second-generation product of the UA-ID project, and in addition to her artistic design modules, she has also been equipped with basic primary industrial processing abilities. This helps Horizon demonstrate the practical effects of design that can be used for reference and avoids the issue of first-generation UA-ID Dolls producing designs that are too detached from reality.

New Event: Aberrance's Chain The new event "Aberrance's Chain" is coming with new game mechanics. Participate in the event for rich rewards! A mysterious group of agents known as the Guardians unravel more of Magrasea's mysteries in their perilous journey. The lambs partake unwittingly in profane sacrament, as the clouds silently loom above. New Sector: Ascension, the Neuroengineering Sector The Ascension sector was founded by Ultilife in a bid to develop ergonomic prosthetics for veterans who were maimed in combat. However, that is but a cover for a secret collaboration with Svarog Heavy Industries for military prosthetics development. The hands that heal, so too can they easily maim. New Arrivals: Sueyoi and Clukay "Sueyoi" BPT2 is a scientific research Doll of 42Lab, fine-tuned for geological studies. Sueyoi participated in various cryptid organism surveys and mineral excavation programs, all with significant success. After the passing of Sueyoi's designer, many serious complications arose from self-destructive behaviors that damaged his neural modules. After heavy consideration, 42Lab signed Sueyoi into Project Neural Cloud during his maintenance period. "Clukay" NSP is a Doll with "no affiliation", rarely seen in the Oasis. As NSP was not capable of providing materials related to her creation, the responsible personnel were not able to track down who exactly manufactured her and what her purpose was. As determined by the combined inspection of the Oasis Security and Medical Departments, NSP is equipped with massive amounts of arms modules, and displays balanced combat capabilities along with truly exceptional neural stability. Aside from any affiliated company, the exact reason and time of NSP's upload to Magrasea is also unclear. What one can be certain of, however, is that NSP was not originally planned to be a part of Project Neural Cloud. Clukay's Character Event brings new and exciting gameplay! The "Commander" forays into a different Magrasea with an old acquaintance in tow, unknowing of the grave danger that lies ahead. What awaits them in this strange world where everyone's personalities are flipped, both friend and foe alike? ...Was this truly just a bygone memory?

Reviews of Neural Cloud

  • *Another* Auto-battler

The game has charm. From the very first battle to the minute narrative interactions, Neural cloud does everything in its power to open a window in the auto-battler market and let the fresh air in. All to a fantastic soundtrack provided by Vanguard Sound. Unfortunately, it still doesn’t leave its room and it’s starting to stink.

Plagued by cascading menus, resource grind, repetitive combat, a barebones story, and a relatively small cast of character-ala-trope, Neural cloud fastens itself squarely within the gacha standard formula with a tease of what could be.

Neural cloud could have been phenomenal if its aesthetic, cast, and procedural mission style were used to facilitate a more novel gameplay loop. But instead we got *another* auto-battler that recycles ideas from MICA’s past work.
  • Love this game, but…

I wish this game had better social features. Currently all friends are good for is borrowing their units, but aside from that there’s not much else (and the stronger you become the less incentives you have for using supports which means you don’t have incentives to have friends on your friends list). My suggestions: allow us to visit friend’s bases (I would love to see how other players have designed their bases), provide benefits to players whose units were borrowed (incentivize having friends), add guild system so players can work in teams to achieve goals, add co-op content, aside from support units give us the option to show off our favorite characters in our profiles (example: I love DeLacey but she’s not my strongest unit, yet I’d like to show off the projections I own), in-game chat with stickers (make new stickers earnable through events), and lastly allow us to show off our accolades.
  • Recent event ruined otherwise enjoyable game

I started playing this game at global launch and I got into it for the adorable characters, wonderful artwork, fairly easy gameplay, and compelling storyline. I’ve had no real complaints up until now. However, the most recent storyline event (at the time of this writing) ended so horribly that I don’t really care what happens after this, unless it somehow gets fixed. It’s so upsetting that I can’t justify giving this company any more money or spending my time playing something that’s just going to anger and depress me every time I look at it. Sorry, but you screwed up when you took my Sunshine away.
