Was great, now trouble

I have two lights that I’ve had for a while and enjoyed the ease of use with them. I use them as back lights when shooting videos. I could change colors easily by clicking on a device and selecting new color. With latest updates, running iOS 17.1.2, when I click on device the app crashes. I can’t change light color any more. I hope they can fix!

Crashes when trying to change colors

When I now open the app I only have an the ability to turn my lights on and off. When trying to edit the color the app crashes. This is as of December 8th 2023 on IOS17.

Response from developer

please use the "One-key reset" function in "More" to clear all devices and add new lights.

Lights good, App Poor, no Alexa or Google Home integration

Make sure you want lights this size, they are good, but larger than regular down lights. Range of scenes very limited. Big Problem though is no integration with Alexa or Google home that I can find. So you have to use the app.

Response from developer

Steps to add Alexa: 1. Activate the device using the "Activate Alexa" feature. 2. Add a device using the Alexa "find devices" command.

Great value lights held back by lackluster app

The app itself actually isn’t terribly hard to use, although it’s a little clunky. The biggest problem is that it’s just not flexible enough. The color choosing interface isn’t highly intuitive and is hard to get right. It would be nice if there were a bigger default pallet to choose from for colors.

The modes are almost useless. The choice of 5 speeds often leads me with too fast or too slow and nothing just right. A slider for more dialed in speed would be greatly preferred. The DIY modes are a great idea, poor execution. I love being able to select several colors for a DIY fade or flash, but being limited to the default pallet is useless.

Bonus: would love to see a mode for fire flicker and/or random on/off like a creepy lightbulb. Used these for Halloween and it would have been an awesome feature.

More thing that NEED to be done

What needs to be fixed:

1. Rhythm feature doesn’t work when outside the app. Come on this is easy programming.

2. Also about Rhythm— Why don’t you add the ability to choose one light option (I choose RGB) and it dims and becomes more brighter with the music. So kind of like a mix of Rhythm+fade.

3. The DIY Fade doesn’t work with any RGB, only selected modes and is extremely basic. You need to allow fade between any of my chosen RGB colours + allow me to choose the extent of brightness change I want while it fades (example: Keep on fading between 20% and 80% brightness)

3. There is “how to connect alexa” instructions on the app but no button on the app to actually connect alexa… Come on. Fix!

Missing function

Is there any way to set the light brightness and specific color for the DIY mode? It's disappointing that this is not included if you can set RGB colors and brightness for the single color mode. Other than this missing feature, the bluetooth connection functions properly.

App not fully in English, cannot name lights

The app is bare minimum
It changes the lights. But you cannot name your lights so when you have 9 of them, it’s difficult to tell which light is which.

Also, when adding each light, you need to accept the terms for each one and the what I assume is the confirmation button is in Chinese even though the rest of the app is in English.

Does what it says

It’s pretty easy to set up, I only used the manual to figure out the name of the app. It was intuitive to add new lights, and to change colors and modes. My only criticism is that, while there are dozens of preset modes, those could be a little more creative with their timing. They should make a randomized lightning effect and quicker dance floor effects. Currently they are all just slow fades or regular color switching.

Multi Color feature glitchy

Concept is great, and easy to pair with the multi-color LED spotlight. Unfortunately the app won’t activate the multicolor options, so I only have access to white light only. I even tried reinstalling the app and pairing new. Just says it’s “Accessing” the multi light, but never brings up the multiple light options. Too bad. I have a couple of the earlier generations that included a remote and really liked the Idea of having one app to control the new lights I just purchased.

Ok but could be great!

Required features to make it great.
1. Ability to name each light
2. Ability to reorder the lights on the screen so they can be put in the same order as they are in real life
3. When changing colours recall the colour the light is currently set to. Currently it defaults to the colour of the last light you adjusted therefore fine adjustments are difficult.
4. Scenes allow lights to be reordered on screen
5. Scenes allow multiple lights to be set at the same time so you don’t need to go through each one
6. Ability to group lights for example by location if you have multiple installs.

These features would help when managing large numbers of lights.
