  • Copy/paste option

I wish I would be able to do copy/paste as I don’t workout with my phone in my hand and don’t want to reload the app every single time I wanna check the workout.
  • Great app and program

Awesome app and love the layout. Would really like a swipe function between days while looking at the prescribed work instead of exiting back to the previous page.
  • Embed links to previous workouts

It would be really handy if workouts that are repeated that the app would have an embedded link to that previous workout
  • Strong Program - Review

Program is “ok” at best. This is definitely geared to CrossFit guys/gals looking to add some strength, not powerlifters looking to progress. You can’t track accessory sets, reps or weights…this might be fine for some communities where they just rep out more, however, as a powerlifter I keep a detailed history of accessory work. As accessories work lbs come up each week, my weak points (what accessory work should be geared toward) improve thus improving my overall strength. The week tracking and inability to adjust is frankly annoying at best, you will see this repeated in almost all the comments.

TLDR: If your an experienced strength athlete this app is not for you. Lack of detailed tracking makes it questionable for most in my opinion.

  • Programming is awesome, app needs improvement

The programming of this app is excellent, workouts, the demonstration videos and coaching. The app itself has limited functionality. It does not allow for inputting individual weight for each set or how many reps completed, or to mark off each set completed. It does have a notes section, but if I have to keep track of that info in the notes section I might as well have a spreadsheet or a notebook. Also, having to have a separate account and login for gowod is inconvenient, everything for the workout should be ready to go. I was looking forward to starting the strong program but the functionality of the app just didn’t work for me. This is coming from someone who used the naked app for a few years, I have an understanding of these workouts and I was disappointed since I really wanted to focus on a powerlifting routine.

  • Excellent App and programming.

I have tried a few home programs for CrossFit, HWPO has the best app out of all of them. The Strong and 60 programs are laid out very well in the app and makes it easy to determine each segment of the days workout.

I had better results after one cycle of the Strong program than after two years of in person CrossFit classes. I just started the 60 program, too early to tell results but the sections are all tied together nicely and it is enjoyable so far.

  • Great

Been using this app for about a year now.
Tried a couple of different programs and it’s been so helpful. Stopping the subscriptions is easy and simple. Can’t stand it when you have to spend ages in numerous small print menus to try cancel or pause a subscription. Fortunately this isn’t one of them. Have recommended the app and programs to several friends at my local box. None of us have looked back

  • Amazing programming

The app is amazing, the programming is amazing and the how to videos are too.
The could be better with an in app timer
    For time,amraps , intervals
the app does have other purchases features for warm up n cools down for the WOD which takes away from the app.
fix these minor things and this would be the perfect app

  • Great program, mediocre app

HWPO programming is wonderful: well thought out and effective. But the app is mediocre at best.

    1. The app has no rounding options, so weights percentages are accurate to one decimal place - not a massive issue just inconvenient since it’s feels like a simple oversight. Just being able to ‘round to 1, or 2.5’ would be nice.

    2. You cannot ‘complete’ a day without checking off the GOWOD stuff, which is another subscription- feels grabby to have it here. Yes you can lie and tick it all but that seems a bit weird.

    3. There’s no tracking for weights used where they’re not prescribed, like accessory stuff. Instead you have to add weights and reps to notes, then find the corresponding workout from last week to see what you did.

    4. There’s no progression metrics (max lifts over time, prescribed weights over time, workouts completed, etc).

    5. Having to click out of a session section (main lifts, accessories, metcon etc) and then into the next one within a workout is a bit annoying but very minor. Having this laid out as one page would be more convenient.

Overall it’s a nice spreadsheet presentation without any functionality. Gets the job done but could be better considering the price of a sub. “Strong”, “Gravitus” and apps like these all have much better tracking and usage functions.
