Got me into backgammon
Such a great platform. Launched with a few bugs but it was a soft launch. These have been resolved and it runs so well. Unbelievable that it’s free. So many opportunities to analyse your play and to learn. Thanks team!AndyCasey
Huge improvements
The app has been markedly improved over the last six months. Many of these reviews are from over a year ago, which do not apply to today’s app. The app is now excellent. I highly recommend it.CB 1993
Best backgammon app
This is by far the best backgammon app out there if you want to play other people.
The AI analysis is non plus ultra and has excellent game play.
Most of the 2 star reviews are from people that used to use the web version and didn’t like the switch to an app. It is not deserved in my opinion as these are the same people still playing here and not going anywhere else.

Annoying automoves
The app provides a reasonable interface and the analysis can be informative.
HOWEVER for some strange reason, obviously known only to them, the developers have incorporated an automatic move feature whereby two stones will be moved from the same point for any dice combination - it might be marginally logical for a double but for other rolls?
If it were not for this ridiculous “feature” (which cannot be turned off), I would rate the app at 3 possibly 4 stars.Show lessmarchred
Bug
Currently whenever I am about to win a match, the mobile app freezes with the button “Confirm” showing. If I click that button, it does nothing. If I close the app, there is no record of that game having ever been played. Please fix this!!Backgammon Amir
site crashes too often
There is no logic in the way an opponent is found or the stake you are playing for. For example you may play a match for 400 GCs then on the next one your are compelled to play for 22,000GCs! If you disagree with the match up of an opponent or the stake, you are not allowed to decline. If you don’t play, then you automatically lose!
So many times the site crashes, and only when I am about to win a match. Yet when it is back on, to my dismay, my opponent (the loser),
is always awarded the match! This is crazy.
Trying to inform customer service seems to be a waste of time, they ignore you. At one time my GC total was about 340,000, but after some weird things happened, it soon went down to about 17,000!Show lessDemetrakis
Freezes mid game
This app freezes mid game and a white blank screen comes up. The only way to resolve this screen is to force quit the app, re-open the app and then re-enter the match you are in. By doing this you loose seconds on the clock, and often loose matches you were winning due to the loss in time. Terrible playing experience.
Also, you can only play the game counter-clockwise and there is no setting to change it. The dice and moves lag.Show lessApp user 2024*
A fine game now ruined.
This used to be an excellent game until it was monetised. Today my opponent had NINE double rolls during bearing off. Astronomical odds!
Now the player has no control over the stake each game. You win more games if you deliberately make blunders. You lose loads of games where the opponent makes many blunders and you have much better PR. This is because the dice are fixed. Shame on you!Show lessrandomlil
Frustrating
I can see why they have set up the game the way it is but I hate the randomness of opposition. Also too many joker rolls for both me and the opposition compared to real life. This is anecdotal and I’m sure Marc can pull some stats out to disprove it but it still doesn’t make for a great game experience.Show lessRcgujk dr
