  • Game is great could be better

The game is fun to play, like others it isnt unique in the aspect of moving your character around the map. The one thing the keeps me from playing more. You always hit a stall point. If you are not forking out $$$$ a month on the game you don’t really continue to increase. You increase very slowly. The spent gems for one of the specialty heroes is a joke, you spend gems 10 times, where each subsequent spend gems gets insanely over priced and you think great I got the hero, but don’t realize the small fortune it took to get there. It’s fun, I would spend more time playing if they made the other heroes purchasable via tokens or gems. More heroes means more in game time to level them. More in game time means more possibilities of money spent.

  • Pay to play if you want to complete weekly tasks.

I can’t believe I feel for this scam. I played the game and enjoyed it. Probably had to watch 50 ads a day which was annoying but I figured hey it supports the developers. But then today I realized I couldn’t complete my weekly quests without spending real money. What the heck kind of scam is that? How is this even legal. What’s the point of playing a game where you can’t finish basic quests without paying money. This should not be allowed in these games. I have no problem with purchases that help you with the game, but making it necessary to complete the weekly quests crosses a line.

  • Pay to play

This game is extremely pay to play. It’s very fun and grinding is engaging but some things are just too extreme. I bought the adventure pass for $50 come to find out you have to buy it everytime for each separate hero which is ridiculous. I got to the last stage and miss clicked and got a reward I didn’t want. There was no option to even warn me or ask me if I am sure I don’t want something else.

On top of that if you don’t buy it and try to play it free it doesn’t save your progress the next time it rolls around. Again ridiculous some things are worth it like the $20 ad free option I’m going to be completely f2p from now on there’s no way I’d ever give another dollar.

  • Surprisingly not ruined by cash shop

It’s got ups and downs. It’s entertaining enough that it’s held my interest a lot longer than most mobile games. Despite the overpriced cash shop and clear disparity between spenders/non-spenders, it manages to be a pretty fun game.

The core gameplay is good, but it’s got some glaring issues that get more obvious and troublesome as you progress.
    1. Unfair death: a lot of times, skill effects will obscure the screen and you can’t maneuver properly or avoid danger. Elites can one-shot you without ever seeing them approach. Other hazards will kill you because you can’t see them or a clear path out of them.
    2. Too random level upgrades: it’s too likely that you won’t get your optimal skillset on any given run and get stuck with weapons/passives that aren’t beneficial to your character/strategy.
    3. Holiday events are not fun/interesting/rewarding: consistent format of randomly spawning event currency on the map. This requires you to search, when it would be much more efficient/safe to camp and churn through kills. Then you spend the currency to spin a wheel and mostly get unneeded energy or insignificant amounts of coin.

Dev responsiveness seems to be hit and miss… mostly miss.

Playing with ads isn’t a good experience. The ad free purchase is overpriced… so you have to decide if you want to stick with the game.

They’d really benefit by addressing bad mechanics and having more realistic prices.

    Meh.

  • Love the game.. but

I’m ashamed to admit I’ve probably spent $250 on this game (not needed at all, just hated waiting lol) the game is great for that fact, you don’t need to pay a dime to progress, it’s really awesome and addicting…

BUT! Why did Tide Wardens Ultimate basically work at half of what it should be doing, last week.. I check today.. there was an update of a bug fixes yesterday… and the Tide Wardens Ultimate still has no push back.. before it would push back in all 360 degrees around you.. I know it doesn’t state it has pushback but I don’t remember if it said it did or not last week.. but it did because that’s how I was able to finally progress 20+ levels.. that pushback was amazing and makes complete sense for the Tide Wardens “Deadly Flood” to Pushback and not just slow. I’m not sure if it’s even slowing enemies 75% like it claims. Maybe that’s the bug? But there being no Pushback must also be the bug that happened while I was playing that night. Please let me know ! A reply would be nice Dev-Team! I’ve had to spend more just to continue progressing..

I guess I should be applauding the business strategy to get me to spend more 😅 happy slaying playas

  • Please take this new function out or redo it.

The new rune function is really cool with how you collect runes then use them to get points per character then you can level your characters star level up. But it’s making it very very hard to get new characters to level 60. My goal was to collect every character and get them to level 60 for the all characters bonus damage. But now it’s way to hard to rank up star levels on new characters so there isn’t a point in me buying all your characters. I love the game and spend money on it when it makes sense but I am not going to buy portal spins for a chance at 1 or 2 character cards to rank up star levels. And free to play players might as well just never progress further with this new system. Thank you for listening. I hope you can help.

  • Poorly done

Went through the tutorial and made my account. Finished the 4 waves of my first run, and then I was stuck. The X button in the upper right did not work. Only thing that worked was the Double Rewards button so I got stuck watching an ad. I thought “ok they are forcing you to double your rewards so they get ad views.” But then the Collect button would not work. The X button still didn’t work. Had to force close the app just to get it to do anything, and then when I opened it again it had reset me back to the beginning.

Complete waste of time. Do NOT waste yours on it.

  • Good, not perfect

The gameplay is good, the graphics are a bit awkward but serviceable, the main thing stopping me from giving 5 stars is that the monetisation is a bit intense. It could be MUCH worse, but it could absolutely be better. There being a permanent ad removal option is excellent, though it's overpriced at $20, and though you can get good rewards for free, there are passes for events and seasons which are also overpriced.

  • Good game, but over priced and cheesy gameplay

The game is aimed to get in your pockets. I have a lvl 42 characters that struggles to defeat any monsters and fans even use to lvl 2 characters weapons because you need some collectible to unlock it and they don’t even tell you how to get it. In events, enemies are over powered and know I just notice that you don’t get experience for every enemy killed which leads to you slowly leveling up. I killed every monster in a wave and didn’t even level up at the end of it. It just a waste of time once you get a strong character l.

  • Much worse version of Archero

I only played a bit before giving up. Idk, maybe somewhere over an hour split up across a couple days. Like Archero, you walk around and attacks are automatic and generally target the nearest enemy.

However, it's in a big open space and, at least in the early levels, enemies are all melee, so positioning is much less important. Often moving vs. standing still makes very little difference.

Also, the choices you get as you level up during each run are much less interesting. Instead of combining things in interesting ways that leads to different gameplay, the choices during the run feel rather linear. Specifically, by choosing the same option five times (each being one level higher than the last, so that they have slightly different effects) plus the one option that morphs your chosen path, you get a very powerful morphed effect. This means really you're going to be trying to choose whatever you're getting closest to morphing. It's like it wants to be linear and doesn't understand what made Archero good.

In the end, at least in early levels, you're basically getting random power ups that are not mechanically interesting as you go through the level, and even if you're trying to use positioning you could just be standing still.
