Price History of Saturated Fat Counter Tracker

Description of Saturated Fat Counter Tracker

Use this app to control saturated fat intake to ensure a healthy anti-inflammatory gut microbiome to protect from many inflammatory & neuroinflammatory diseases such as atherosclerosis, type 2 diabetes, obesity, some cancers, Alzheimer's dementia, Parkinson's disease and psychiatric disorders. Set your daily saturated fat intake based on guidance provided in the app and your preferences for weights of food (g or oz) and display of saturated fat content in foods and beverages (ie, %target/serving, g/100g or g/1oz, or %target/100g or %target/1oz). Record food and beverage consumption using the barcode scanner, dictation, search or by favoriting foods and using the serving sizes provided (which can be changed at any time). Tap the notepad to add notes. Monitor daily and long-term progress, export data to share with healthcare providers, synchronize data with other First Line Medical Communications Ltd nutrient counter apps, and share data with Apple's HealthKit. Add your own foods and recipes and change serving sizes to personalise the app's 400-item database for you. The app also provides nutritional information for many healthy foods and supports a healthy gut microbiome diet using color-coded type and icons as follows: 1. All high-saturated fat foods (ie, contain more than 3g of saturated fat per serving) appear in maroon type. Tap on the food name to find out more about the food including the serving size and see icons - a maroon warning triangle indicates that it contains more than 3g of saturated fat per serving; a green leaf icon indicates that the food is a plant and can be included as one of the 30 different types of plant per week recommended by experts for a healthy gut microbiome; a red warning triangle icon indicates that the food is ultra-processed (see below); a gold microbe icon indicates that the food is a probiotic. 2. Plants that can be included as one of the 30 different types of plant per week recommended by experts for a healthy gut microbiome and contain less than 3g of saturated fat per serving are in green type (with a green leaf icon used to indicate a plant in the food popup). The most prebiotic of these plants (ie, those particularly beneficial for the gut microbiome) are in a darker green type. 3. Fermented foods that contain beneficial live microbes to become part of the gut microbiome (probiotics) and contain less than 3g of saturated fat per serving are in gold type with a gold microbe icon in the food popup. 4. Foods that are likely to be ultra-processed (UPFs) — ie, contain ingredients not found in a home kitchen (eg, preservatives, flavorings, and emulsifiers) and contain less than 3g of saturated fat per serving are in red type with a red warning triangle in the food popup. UPFs are often high-calorie, low-fiber, high-saturated fat, high-sugar, high-sodium, low-nutrient foods linked to obesity and chronic inflammation (due to their adverse effect on the gut microbiome), which is a key feature of noncommunicable diseases (NCDs). NCDs include type 2 diabetes, atherosclerosis, non-alcoholic fatty liver disease, arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease, many cancers, depression, dementia and Parkinson's disease). 5. Foods in black type contain less than 3g of saturated fat per serving and are neither UPF, plant, prebiotic nor probiotic and are healthy when consumed in moderation as part of a healthy diet.

Reviews of Saturated Fat Counter Tracker

Wow!

This is exactly what I've needed. I have been trying to keep track of my daily saturated fat intake for 8 months and my friend suggested I try an app. Here's what I love about it:
-- There are suggestions, but I can set my own goal preferences and have a visual of my daily sat-fat intake!
-- I can look at my overall progress for the month with a very easy visual representation.
-- I can scan foods from the barcodes for super fast/easy tracking
-- I can search or save favorite food items from a large list of food options that don't have barcodes
-- I CAN LINK THIS TO MY HEALTH APP through Apple if I choose to in order to include the cholesterol/diet component in my overall picture of my health progress!

Response from developer

Thank you so much @kmillyjones for this wonderful review. So pleased to hear that you are able to appreciate all the functions we include with the app and that it is making a difference to your life.

Good Simple Tool

I really like this app. It is no-nonsense, easy to use. Instead of logging everything I eat, I just track things I know have some saturated fat. The app easily keeps count and has a reasonable database that you can add to just by scanning barcodes or typing in the data. So it hardly takes me any time in the day and I can keep within my required limits. I’ve tried other apps but they overwhelm with detail. I can stick to this one because I know I will use it and it will help me. Not giving 5 stars because a lot of the barcodes aren’t recognised and it is not Australian oriented.

Response from developer

Many thanks for posting this review. Glad you find the app useful and it is helping you avoid excessive saturated fat intake. Hope you find the new features in the update 2.11.1 (will be available soon) helpful.

Just what I was looking

A lot of skill and knowledge has gone into creating this app. Unfortunately I have severe coronary artery disease and so it’s imperative that I track my saturated fat intake which is quite low. This is a really valuable app for me. It’s well thought out and for anyone that will take a few minutes to review the appand set up the data. It will make their lives easier and healthier. Thank you to the developers. Nothing else like that out there.
