  • LAANC Approval

I had a pop up mission close to an international airport. I used the app and it was approved within 5-10 seconds! I love this app!

  • This company cares about its users

I submitted a review not to long ago about needing to improve a few things. A couple weeks later, my suggestions were implemented! This is a great app and it continues to get better and better. Another review asked about being able to create polygons instead of the circle for requesting LAANC. I completely agree with that. Give them a week and I’m sure they will fix this too. I’m very impressed with this app, their dedication to customer support and implementing user feedback. BRAVO!

    Developer Response

Thank you for taking the time to provide such detailed feedback! We truly appreciate your insights and are committed to enhancing your experience with Autopylot. We hear your concerns about TFRs and agree that expanding our TFR functionality to have a link to the FAA website, even when there are no active TFR, could help further improve the app's usability. I'm happy to let you know that we are actively working on addressing these issues, and you can expect improvements in our upcoming app updates. We're also aware of the importance of accessing weather information during flight planning, and I'm happy to share that we have several enhancements planned that should help address this! Your feedback is invaluable to us as we strive to create the top go-to app for drone pilots. If you have any further suggestions or questions, please feel free to reach out to us at Hello@autopylot.io. Thanks again for supporting AutoPylot, and fly safe!
  • Excellent

Very user friendly and does just what I need.

One thing I really appreciate is being able to connect with the company via chat. They are very responsive and it’s a real person on the other end. They seem eager to be of help. Great customer service.

Additionally, I appreciate being able to create my own reusable checklists.

It would be helpful to be able to add links in a note field in the checklist so that we could simply click to be taken to sites to check for NOTAMs, TFRs, Charts, & Aviation Weather site.

    Great app.

  • No iPad Support & Missing Controlled Airspaces

Seems like a nice app, but I was totally disappointed when I downloaded to my iPad Mini, which I use often within my drones, to find out it it’s only an iPhone version. I will continue to use Air Control from Aloft until a version that supports the iPad becomes available. Also some Controlled Airspaces are missing. I live in Vero Beach, Florida and have Vero Beach to my north and Forth Pierce airport to my south. Fort Pierce Airspace doesn’t show up. Looks like a good start, but still has a lot of things to fix. I can’t trust an application that doesn’t show me Control Airspaces. Who know what else is missing. They claim to show TFRs, but will they really show them? If I'm going to use an app to save me time and not have to go to a lot of places to look for information, I expect it to be correct all the time.

    Developer Response

Thank you for sharing your feedback with us. We genuinely value your input and apologize for any inconvenience you've experienced. We understand your disappointment regarding the lack of iPad compatibility, and I'm pleased to inform you that we're actively working on updating our app to support iPad devices. We anticipate having a solution available very soon to address this concern. Regarding the missing controlled airspaces, Autopylot maps are dynamic and show advisories specific to your flight's location, time, date, and duration. In the Vero Beach area, several airspaces operate on a schedule and are not active 24 hours a day. In other words, they are sometimes controlled airspace and other times revert to Class G. If you were checking the app during times when the airspace was uncontrolled, then they wouldn't appear on the map. However, you can access the airspace schedule in the flight checklist by finding the advisory labeled scheduled airspace and tapping "show schedule." This allows you to see all the times the airspace is active or inactive. Similarly, Autopylot displays all Temporary Flight Restrictions (TFRs), but if the TFR schedule doesn't overlap with your flight parameters (location, time, date, duration), it will not appear on the map. If you have any further questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to contact us at hello@autopylot.io. We're here to assist you and ensure your experience with Autopylot meets your expectations.
  • My backup LAANC app

If my go to LAANC app fails, I’ll go to this one. I like it, pretty straight forward way to get LAANC. What I don’t like: apparently the app will show you active TFR’s if there are any, but does not have a link to the FAA TFR website so you can do mission/flight planning. There should be a section for TFR to show you if there are any upcoming or N/A as you have no indication if the TFR function is working which will lead you to going to the FAA website so the TFR function needs addressing. You cannot access weather info until you submit your LAANC request and it gets approved. Again, weather is part of flight/mission planning so you should be able to check weather before submitting LAANC. It has NOTAMS info which is useless for a drone pilot as NoTAMS are airport particular info like taxiway closures or fuel truck unavailable hours, etc. With so many apps to choose from for drone pilots for LAANC and weather, an all encompassing one stop shop for an app would be great. I think if Autopylot addressed my “don’t likes” and fixed this, they would have THE top go to app.

  • My initial use review.

Easy to use once I figured out what buttons to push, it would be very helpful if you had one page of simple instructions on how to navigate to get the flight approval. But it’s very nice. Thank you.

    Developer Response

Thank you for your fantastic review and valuable feedback! We're thrilled that you found our platform easy to use. Your suggestion for providing simple instructions on navigating to get flight approval is great, and we'll definitely take it into consideration to enhance the user experience. If you ever need further help or have any more suggestions, please feel free to reach out to us at Hello@autopylot.io. Fly Safe!
  • Default FAA maps are awful

The maps that this app uses look like the ones provided by the FAA, and aren't as good as what is in DJI Fly or Airspacelink.

    Developer Response

Thank you for your feedback! We appreciate your time and thoughts. As an FAA-approved provider, our maps and data come from official FAA sources, which is why you see many similarities between the two. However, remember that the data provided by the FAA and the maps from DJI Geo-Zones are designed differently since they serve two different purposes. We'll consider your input for future improvements, and if you have any more suggestions, feel free to share them with us at Hello@autopylot.io!

  • Description is false in regards to:

Account creation. Every single one of these NOW 4 apps available REQUIRE you to “create an account”
I completely understand why. I don’t like it at all but I get it.
B4UFLY app was SO easy and amazing to use- as usual they update it - which it did not need at all IMO & now we have to have big bro all up in our business for any flight we want to file.
For those that are flying under 249g this is completely ridiculous. Not even worth filing a plan as none of the part 107 applies to you (except night flight- I think) anyway.
Not happy with the new offerings at all.
Not going to be creating any accounts either.

    Developer Response

Thank you for your feedback and for sharing your concerns with us. We understand your frustration with the account creation requirement. It's important to note that while creating an account is necessary for filing a mission, it's not mandatory for simply checking airspace information. If you prefer to only access B4UFLY airspace data without creating an account, you're welcome to do so. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and are here to assist you further with any questions at hello@autopylot.io. Safe Flying.
  • Drone mission

It would be good if the mission location could be changed by dragging the location on the map.

    Developer Response

Hey, thank you for leaving us a review and feedback. Once you drop a pin by tapping on the map or searching for an address, you will see a flight radius appear. Users can then zoom and drag the map to move the flight boundary. We're sorry if this was unclear. We would be happy to connect and walk you through the app!
