Based on my first experience the app provides the basic service and it’s ok to navigate. One thing that is a little annoying is the lack of zooming on the map. You are limited to how far out you can zoom to about one state at a time. The major flaw I see is the lack of controlled airspace zones on the map. For example, sports stadiums. You cannot fly within 3 miles of a stadium 1 hour before or after a sporting event. Stadium airspace is not marked on the map like Aloft. The controlled airspace grids are all one color which makes it hard to see the max altitude zones unless you zoom in. Due to the lack of airspace zones on this map I don’t trust it to guide me where I can fly.

We understand your concerns about controlled airspace zones, particularly around sports stadiums. While we don't currently visualize stadium warnings directly on the map, our flight checklist always provides users with a stadium advisory when they are within 3NM of a stadium. Additionally, it lists the names of the stadiums so users can check the schedules and ensure compliance with regulations.

This would be a five star app if I could file using polygons, or at least a square. I live in Class D airspace in a corner between two different altitude flying zones. I could easily fly within the boundaries of the higher altitudes zone. But I cannot request a LAANC for those altitudes, because this app only provides me a circle and I cannot cover the area I want with the circle, without the circle going into lower altitude zones. If I use this app, I have to restrict myself to the lower altitude. So, I don’t use this app when I’m in a corner zone. Which is a large percentage of my flying.

This new feature should make filing requests in corner zones much easier, especially in areas where altitude zones differ. Now, you can cover the area you need without the limitations of a circular boundary.

When you start the app it tries to force you to accept notifications. It doesn’t give you the option to decline. You just have to say accept and then cancel iOS’s dialogue. Only then does the option show up.

Thanks for leaving us some feedback and trying our app! Great little app for planning UAV missions and obtaining LAANC authorizations. Very easy to use and intuitive. My only suggestions would be that a version specifically for iPads (utilizing the full screen instead of a phone-sized screen) was available; having a checklist template that can be applied to all missions and allowing “sub” checklist items under main checklist items; and support for both Part 107 and recreational missions.
