  • Perfect! Less focused on social sharing than others.

I love this app! It’s exactly what I was looking for. I can include just enough details from my reading to capture the experience of the book without getting bogged down in tedious stats i don’t care about.

What separates this app from the others is the lack of social sharing of reading. Yes no social aspect! My reading is personal to me and I’m not interested sharing what I’m reading or what others are ( there are many other places on the internet for that). I love that this is essential a digital book journal just for me. I’ve seen many reviewers request a social feature. My ask is that if this feature comes to be, that there is an option to be “invisible” . I don’t want my contacts knowing I’m on the app and have to awkwardly turn down their requests to connect.

A feature I would love to see is the ability to add unique book shelves for books already read ( different from tbr shelf). I’d love to create shelves such as “all time favorites” or “books I recommend” or “ books that helped me grow” whatever categories users want to create.

I adore this app it, perfectly fits my needs and’s is visually appealing. I can’t wait to see how it evolves and grows!

    Thanks developers!

  • Keeps Freezing

I really enjoy this app because I like seeing how many I still have to read until my goal and it all laid out like a bookshelf. I like the different options to rate the book and categories as well.

The one thing that keeps bothering me is that when I add a book to read, I can’t change the date read or finished as it freezes my screen and I have to come completely out of the app and redo the whole rating again.

  • The only book tracking app that works for me

I’ve been looking for book trackers for a while and almost all of them have strict in-app purchases. While it does include it they’re not necessarily needed features you can pay for. For example there isn’t a limit on the amount of books you can upload you can change the covers. And most of all it’s cute like it’s not an ugly app like good reads i find to be kinda bland. But my favorite app.

  • Great concept, but barebones without paid subscription

I love the idea of the app, and the goal page with the visual bookshelf is really fun. I also like the unique rating system, although it was clearly designed with the romance genre in mind and not much else (I’m not sure how to rate a memoir I read on a predictability scale…). Unfortunately, the paid subscription is too costly for me, especially when there are so many free apps out there that offer the same features at no cost. I do enjoy the base features, but I’ll probably stick to Storygraph as my main reading tracker.

  • Favorite Book Review App!!

I’ve been using TBR for over a year now and I absolutely love it! I have a few suggestions tho. I would really like a way to log in or save my data. I would be seriously upset if my phone broke and I lost all my notes and reviews and what not. Another thing I keep accidentally doing is when I look at my reading goal I keep trying to click on the titles to open up the reviews and thats not how it works. Maybe that could be a feature in the future?? I really like how each book has its own color when you log it. When I’m looking at my read section I wish there was a way to organize it. Right now its every single book I’ve ever logged and if I wanted to find a book review for a book I read say in May of 2021 I would have to scroll all the way down. I would like if there was a way to sort by year or month. Over all though I am the biggest fan of this app. Especially with how much content you can access with just the free version. I am looking forward to buying the premium version and updating all my reviews! I feel like the app is simple enough that adding a review doesn’t feel like a chore (like on other tracking apps). Though it would be cool if there was a way to share your reviews with friends/be able to view other peoples reviews.

Thank you so much for writing such a detailed review! We recently released an update that allows you to sync between devices and backs up your data with iCloud sync in case of accidental deletion. If you’re searching for a specific book you can search at the top of the read book page. We will be looking into a filter/search by date option as well! We love all your ideas and we will be looking into them all! Thanks again :)
  • Perfect virtual bookshelf

I absolutely adore this app - it’s visually pleasing and easy to track TBRs and finished books. However I need help figuring out how to updated the current reads so it shows the percentage complete etc. I can’t figure out how to update what page I’m on and I don’t know if it’s me being silly.

Hi! We’re so happy that you’re enjoying the TBR - Bookshelf App 💕🫶 To update your currently reading progress: Tap on a book in your bookmark tab, this will open up your reading tracker and digital annotating screen. Next, tap the pages remaining button to update your current page number. This will automatically update pages left, time remaining, and percentage read! (Note: this feature does require a pro access subscription) Thank you for reviewing us! 🩷🌷
  • Like it so far

I just found this app and am liking it so far.
Tried to change colours on book spines and keeps closing app.
It would also be nice to have the authors names on the spines.

I will also be adding previous years to it.

Thank you so much for letting us know about the crashing issue on the bookshelf screen! We will have this fixed soon! We also love your idea about including authors on the book spices! We really appreciate your feedback 💕🫶
  • Back up

I’m enjoying this app. I just came across it. I love how I’m able to organize and rate my books. Would love it even more if I’m able to save my progress and all the input I have entered. So far I have the free version but the only reason I don’t pay for the subscription. Is just incase I lose my phone, I won’t lose all that money I have spent on the app. But as soon as they have a back up. I would pay for the subscription. :) Also I would like to see the book pages on the rating section. So I can have a visual on how many pages were on the book.

  • Mostly love this app but…

I’ve had this app for several months now. I used it to track all my reading for 2022 and now this year. I love how the bookshelf helps me visualize my goal and keep track of what I’ve already accomplished. My only complaint is the color of the books on the shelf. Both in 2022 and 2023 the books are numbered in gray and as you read the title of the book replaces a number and the color of the book change, however I dislike how the color is still so close to a gray tone. It’s beige, or dull pink, or dull blue, or even sometimes stays gray. At first glance they blend with the numbered spaces so much I can’t enjoy the progress I’m making on my shelf. You can pay for new colors, and I would if it was a one time purchase to unlock colors, but paying a monthly fee to unlock colors is crazy. I just wish the basic color scheme was not in the gray family. I don’t need fancy, but I also don’t see the point in the shelf when the colors are so close.

  • Really great!

I love this app already 🥰 I just wanted to say that I think it would be cool to have a “tbr randomizer” if you wanted to pick more freely from your tbr(like a random generator), and a way to just browse through books instead of having to search for a book to add to your tbr. I can’t wait to see what else they do with organization of series and the function of the different tbr shelves you can make. I love the look and feel of the app, ESPECIALLY the ‘Read’ tab. *chef’s kiss*
