Amazing

Not working for Apple Watch

Horrible and annoying
The spikes work well enough but the app is almost nonfunctional. Make changes to max and minimum temps but the app just ignores these. Click “ok” when it reaches the meat temp I set but the alarm just keeps coming back over and over and over and over until you force quit the app. Trying cooking something when you have guests and this thing demands so much of your attention that you feel rude. TempSpike is accurate and easy to use. It's great to have both meat temperature and ambient temperature. You can customize a cooking range for your personal preferences. Customer support is great and easy to access. The range of the signal is more than adequate. Over all great product and I give it 5 stars!Show lessApteka7
Great temperature monitoring
Used this for the first time and it worked great.
Must’ve been updated because I can set presents for highs and lows to my own liking. Also alarms can be programmed when to come on or off. Used it on a 4 lb whole rotisserie style chicken and it came out perfectly. Quick note : trust the ambient temp on the app because it tells the true temp inside your grill. My new Weber just I bought a month ago, the temp gauge reads 425* but the TempSpike app says 370* a 55* difference.
So when the recipe calls for 370* put tape over grill temp gauge and trust The TempSpike reading.
Love the countdown on the app giving time left before cooking is done. Ok, one little thing is,
the time it takes to charge the probe. Took about 4 hrs. No biggie, just plan ahead before you use it.
The base only took about half of the time. Follow directions and you’ll happy with the results like I was.Show lessHYDRODEPTH

This thing is awesome my only gripe is it need to be on the phone screen when the phone is in stand by so I can see it without having to open the app every timeshecky jackson
Love the device. Hate the app.
The device itself is fantastically useful. Put something on the bbq and get notifications from inside the house with the doors closed because the AC is on, yes please. But the app is awful.
It’s massively over complicated. Like having to choose a meat type. It constantly forgets settings. 300 sounds is overkill (most of them annoying or repeats) and I had to save a note of my choices elsewhere because it keeps losing them.
The reality is, most of the time I want to just use my old dumb probe thermometer because it’s simple. That’s what I need from the app.
Forget the profiles. Slim the settings. Unclutter the UX.
I want to be able to just open the app, set a target temp, and get an alarm. My old dumb probe doesn’t care what I’m cooking, just the temp. There’s way too many steps and choices involved for this.Show lessangrycheese

Handy app, but extremely annoying notifications
I really enjoy the app and flexibility to create your own settings and track cooking profiles.
As I write this app review I have notifications turned off for the temp spike app and my phone is continually beeping and vibrating because the temp spike is disconnected. Using this app outside the range or near the edge of the range basically renders your phone impossible to use because of the constant buzzing and vibrating. Very frustrating.
