Description of Getting Over It+

A game I made For a certain kind of person To hurt them. • Climb up an enormous mountain with nothing but a hammer and a pot. • Listen as I make philosophical observations about the problem at hand. • Between 2 and ∞ hours of agonizing gameplay, depending. The median time to finish for my playtesters was 5 hours, but the mean was closer to ∞. • Lose all your progress, over and over. • Feel new types of frustration you didn't know you were capable of.

Reviews of Getting Over It+

  • Performance Quality issues

It’s close the original copy, but I couldn’t ever seem to get to the orange on my first test. On the other hand, when playing the original (with the same sensitivity settings as the AA version) I WAS able to get to the orange on my first go in 6 minutes. But no matter how many times I tweaked the settings, compared sensitivity to the my settings on the original, I could never compensate for what appears to be a huge input lag, not so huge that it would bash on a newcomer, but players prior to this version will definitely be put off my the quality in the swipe sensitivity.
  • Great game, but a lot of bugs.

As I was playing this game I was really enjoying it until the sensitivity of the hammer went out of control. It’s not completely unplayable now but it takes the original mechanics and gameplay of it making it something else then it’s supposed to be. Though, I only recently had this happened so I hope maybe later on the game will start working again.

This game, when you stop and actually listen to the narrator, this game can actually be really calming. The point of this game is simple; get over it. Many people, even when they do get over it, I feel as if they overlooked the main intention of the game. It’s struggle is what makes the game enjoyable. Of course to really understand the purpose of this game, you probably need to play it yourself to get the message.

I recommend this game and have given it 4 stars.
  • I love it…but there is issues

I love this game and it is super fun. It’s challenging and it gets you angry and angrier every time you fall, which motivates you to get back up. I definitely recommend it. But shoutout to the ✨ D E V E L O P E R S ✨ because I need them to read this. I play the game, I get really far in and accomplished, and I have to go to get food or something like that. So I find a good spot and I leave the game. When I come back, (sorry if this is detailed but I am a detailed person :) I press on the game, the Arcade logo does it’s intro thing, I see the loading screen with the guy in the pot with the hammer, and then all I see is a black screen. It doesn’t load in, and for some reason I can press the pause button. But that’s all I can do now. I can’t play the game anymore without deleting it and restarting all my progress. PLEASE fix this.
