  • Great Fun until…

This game is great fun until you run out of diamonds. Optional items tend to cost diamonds. They aren’t required to submit your designs. Yet, you will get voted down by lacking these optional items.

At first, you are given tens of thousands of coins and diamonds. You level up more quickly as well. Leveling up gives you items, including some of the optional items. But as you play on, spending down your diamonds, you level up less quickly. You can watch adds to collect 30 diamonds, and you get over a thousand each day from the Giving Tree. Optional items cost more than 1000 diamonds except the butterflies. Voting wins you 250 coins per vote. It’s easier to keep your coin total high enough.

Thus we come to the in-app purchases. Like Design Home which I played, you eventually buy a few diamonds or packaged items for $1.99 or $2.99, thinking the game gives me that amount of fun. But it stays this way from here on, struggling to get the optional items that cost diamonds. I’ll reach the point where I delete the game because the Joy is gone from the Garden. I won’t be spending money on this game. I’ve learned that lesson.

  • Loved it/leave it

I would give this 5 star because it’s a lot of fun to play. To be truthful I have several legitimate reasons I will not be continuing.
First off, my 1st review was deleted. (Red Flag).
2nd after reading several of the reviews of the game glitching or freezing along with my own experiences of the game freezing, nothing seems to be taken care of. It’s nice you want to give seeds & furniture or a plant but how about more effort to be placed on fixing a lot of the bugs in the game. Enough money has been made to have that happen.
I too am heavily confused & frustrated with the rating of the challenges. There are some not all that have low ratings in votes but win 5 stars. Many of those don’t have all the things that are asked to be put into the challenges such as colors, or half the items are missing yet they win the challenge, so I’m confused and so are afew other people. I have also noticed some of my diamonds end up not appearing that I had earned, so I’m not to happy. With all the problems I have experienced it’s best to delete the game and do something less addictive.

  • Enjoying the game, but several problems

Overall it is a fun and relaxing game. However, I dislike that the challenges are only released every few hours, there should be more to playing than only a handful of challenges available at a time. It is impossible to add your friends unless you are linked up to Facebook, which I refuse to do. My son wants to be able to show his grandma his designs, and vice versa, but there’s no way for them to connect, and he’s too young for a Facebook. My guess is it’s required so they can track you and sell your info to other companies, just like Facebook does. There should be more ways to get diamonds, but obviously they want your money. It’s not enough that you watch some ads to get diamonds, that gives you hardly anything. If they could fix these things it would be a 5 star game for those who enjoy gardening and being connected NOT through Facebook.

  • Not a true gardening game

The premise of this game is to learn about plants and garden design.
This in reality is a game that is judged by how your design looks and not based on realistic choices of plants.
There are no palm trees in Vermont, nor do zone 8 plants grow there so a score of 5.00 is inappropriate. Putting deep rooted trees on rooftops is not a possibility. The weight alone would collapse the building. So, if you are looking for a game that teaches about gardening, this is not it. There doesn’t seem to be any real gardeners judging the designs. With that being said, if you want a fun game that has some fun decorations then this is a good game. You can learn about some interesting facts about plants but using the same plants in the design settings doesn’t mean they will really survive there. I am a gardener and a decorator who looks at this game as pure entertainment and am somewhat amazed at what designs sometimes get high scores for terrible designs. I agree with other reviewers who have requested the guidelines so you can improve the quality of the gardens.

  • Can’t design due to lack of diamonds

I’ve been reading reviews and I’m not the only one who has to submit empty designs because I can’t buy the extras…rugs, fountains, planters and such. I almost never get to put the things I that I want in because I don’t have the diamonds. Most designs are skimpy because of it. And I’ve started voting for designs that are empty because I understand how frustrating it is to want to make something beautiful but you can’t. If you could just add at least one item per category that will take gold or coins so we don’t have to submit a design that is empty, I’m sure very many of us would appreciate it.💕In the meantime, I’m leaving the game because I’m frustrated with not being able to design.

  • I’m Just Saying…

Love decorating the different types of yards, patios, houses, resorts and businesses in different states and countries! It is very challenging and frustrating sometimes when a lot of your inventory gets blocked stating that “this item is too large, when it really isn’t”and you have to keep buying new items just to meet the certain specifications for a scene. That being said , I still enjoy this game. The downside is that your scene entries are judged by everyone else and many people are not talented enough to put two colors together that match to save their lives! As a result of their poor decorating abilities, your overall score rating keeps going up and down instead of you being able to reach a high rating and maintain it. That’s something the game makers really need to change.

  • Ok

    Here’s the scoop.
Good game but it doesn’t tell you you have to have diamonds and gold coins to decorate rooms to fill the requirements. They should change that, or make it’s easier to get diamonds and coins. 2nd, I wish they gave you more of something when they gifted it to you. Like, when you reach a new level, they give you idk, 5 new laid back chairs. Well, make it 10 so it lasts longer! 3rd, I hope at some point you can add a feature where you can take a picture of a species and it adds it to your stuff that allows you to decorate. Right now, it has a thing called a nursery where you nurture plants, and I want to add a camera feature to that idea. 4th, this is not critical, but the art? Maybe more anime’s like or magical, not so fake real. The jaranda trees look real and fake at the same time! Other than that, not bad I guess. It doesn’t require u to merge anything, like other design games. So, not bad if you don’t my comments above.

  • Love the game

I love this game, but it isn’t one you can just play whenever you want like triple match and the likes of those games. This one takes a bit of figuring out the strategy of spending money to make enough money to purchase another item required for submitting a different contest. It is a pain to start building your collection and you have to make sacrifices of ugly designs to make money to get that fountain you want. You need to watch all the commercials to get a stack of diamonds to purchase some of the necessary items, which I wish there were options to purchase with cash, even if they were ugly items, it would be nice. It is definitely worth joining a club so you can borrow an item you need once a day. Plus that team member gets points for you borrowing. And the voting is weird, but necessary to get necessary cash. I try to vote for the one I dont like, hoping everyone can get a score above a four star. They will win an item atleast. If you get five stars it is rare, but you get a tiny amount of diamonds to spend. And each month you get a rewards list as you accomplish task you win these. Overall I am a plant lover, and really like the game, but once you spend5 your money/ diamonds, you have to wait till the next day to start voting and setting your phone to run through the commercials again. i wouldn’t recommend this game to a small child.

  • NO Side Games? YAY!!!

I have only started playing this game a few days ago, but I have only ever found one game that you can design without having to play a Side game for money, and/or mandatory ads. Or they’re cartoon games, that only allow you three options for each piece of furniture you place, Ugh, those are the worst.. I like this game because you get to design outdoor areas to your liking without all of the side junk getting in the way, they also have realistic features like butterflies flying around your yard; and realistic features such as flowing waterfalls, fire features etc., although they don’t have many options yet, due to the fact that they’re new, but I’m sure they will get more options soon. (my favorite design game started out with just a few designers, and now I can scroll through a massive list of designers to choose from, that would be on Design home, my all-time favorite game that I have been playing for around six or seven years now. I Look forward to having this app that long as well. Hope this helps. Happy decorating. ;-)

  • fun at FIRST

This game is really fun. It’s a nice way to decorate and doesn’t have a required item for every spot like some games, which gives you more creativity. However, I really wanted a design game to play when I have extended periods of free time, but it’s hard when the coins easily get drained and there aren’t many challenges. I’ve only played this game for two days and it’s already unplayable because I don’t have enough coins to buy anything for the requirements, and I don’t even buy stuff at random, I take my time choosing what to buy to preserve the coins. This is disappointing since I really can only delete the game now since it’s unplayable without more coins. I am NOT spending a ton of real life money just to make the game playable. I, the USER, should not have to make the game playable. That is your job.
