no running totals
Response from developer
Thanks for your feedback Tess although I must admit that it hit me more than I'd like to admit. First of all though, you are right. There are no running totals, yet. Caloree is quite a young app and I am adding new features. Running totals is on the list, but before that gets added, I have a bunch of other things including support for Apple Health or with the next update support for around 25000 restaurant meals in the US. What personally hurt a bit about your review is this: I am quite certain I never claimed that Caloree is free. I do offer Caloree in its basic version for free and that allows you to do a lot of things. If I am not mistaken, I am a lot less restrictive in the free version of Caloree than many of my competitors. E.g. one of the big ones recently put barcode scanning behind the paywall. If you had read the description of the app you would have found this in the "FAIR" section: "Caloree PRO is a one-time purchase for an affordable price". So again, no claim that Caloree is free, rather that there is a PRO version which costs money. However, Caloree is only a one-time purchase. It is A LOT cheaper than 90% of the competitors which ask you for an annual or monthly subscription. So with these apps you will pay more annually then you would pay one-time for Caloree. Having said that, I worked countless hours on this app. I am a one man show and spent days and nights on this thing. So in my opinion it is fair to ask for some money for people who use the extra functionality of the app. Last but not least, except for the running totals your review was not very precise. I frankly would have loved to understand which part of the app is not easy to use, because I do listen to these reviews and it helps me to improve this app. So if you have any specific examples, please feel free to reach out to: caloree.feedback@gmail.com.
