Leave a Review Budget Planner App
Excellent app. Far better than a checkbook!
I have been using this app for three months now. I used to record my expenses in a checkbook, just to keep track of things. I now record all expenses in Fleur, and I love the way it categorizes expenses, and shows you exactly where the money is going every month. It is slightly more time-consuming than writing expenses in a checkbook register, but it’s so much more worthwhile for the insights it gives you on different screens. You can set up your categories however it makes sense to you. It’s easy to look ahead and see what expenses are coming up, if you’ve been diligent about putting in automatic bills that will be coming from your account and hitting at a certain day. The interface is very intuitive and user-friendly. And not at all stress inducing, which is a huge factor when you’re talking about finances. I initially thought it was a drawback that this didn’t connect directly to a bank account, and you have to input all of your transactions manually, but once you’re in the flow and if you commit to doing this every day or every few days to a week, it goes quickly and becomes an easy habit. Plus you have a better handle on your money that way anyway. I also gave some feedback to the developer about a change I thought would be helpful around budgeting, and lo and behold, I saw it in the latest app update. The app developer is responsive and very friendly. Bravo!Show lessSimple, Elegant, Helpful
Here’s an edited version of your review:
If you’re looking for an app that covers the basics, doesn’t require a monthly subscription, and is user-friendly, this is the perfect choice. It doesn’t link to your bank account, which I personally prefer. I just need a simple way to track the money coming in and what’s scheduled to go out each month. I check it at the start of every month, and it helps me stay on track. The creator of this app is fantastic and responds to emails, even considering feature suggestions for future updates when possible. The elegant design is what catches my eye every time I open it—it’s beautiful and makes me want to use it more. Plus, who isn’t tired of monthly subscriptions? I love that I can just pay once and be done. Sure, it may not have as many features as a subscription-based app, but for a straightforward budget tool, that’s all I need.Show lessBe Aware - Nothing Automated, Not a true Budgeting App
Be aware, they make you pay the full price for the app before you even dive into it. No trying before buying.
There is also absolutely nothing about this app that is automated. Other apps will at least connect to your bank and pull the information into the app, then you can tell them what to do with it. This one is 100% manual entry. It basically fills the role of what a check register used to do back in the day. If you were good at that, this will be fine for you, but going into the app to fill in every transaction I make is not something I want to take the time to do, and shouldn’t have to in this age of technology.
It also only tallies what percentage of your income that one transaction is, not how much is going to all of your utilities as a whole, unless you name all of your utilities the same thing which would get very confusing very quickly.
Yes, the app is cute, but is a rip off as far as a functional budgeting app is concerned. Two days in and this app is already getting tossed out.
My advice: don’t spend the money unless all you are looking for is a glorified check register that makes a couple of cute graphics from all of your hard work.Show less
