  • Downgrade from OnCue App

Kohler needs to reinstate the favorite parameters so that the owner can monitor the generator while it’s running an exercise.
The app is harder to navigate. The home screen could show more like the old app did. Not impressed with the new version. Transfers from old app is good.
  • HUGE downgrade from OnCue

This new app looks a bit nicer than the OnCue app, but it has FAR less critical information. This is a major downgrade from what we had with OnCue. With OnCue we had access to a wealth of statistics about the generator, so you could actually tell if something was wrong or needed attention. I haven’t found any way in this new app to see *any* of the operational parameters of the generator. There doesn’t appear to be any way to monitor battery voltage, engine RPM, oil pressure, coolant temperature, engine compartment temperature, or controller temperature, all of which are important and were easily accessible in OnCue.

It’s infuriating when a company takes away features that we paid for, especially when they are critical to monitoring the health of the device we bought from them. This new app that Kohler is forcing us to switch to basically tells you the number of hours on the engine, the status of the generator (e.g. Ready to Run), the network connection status, and the type of fuel. It does allow you to set up an exercise schedule, but they’ve got some type of bug, so even that feature isn’t working correctly (I tried in vain to set up an exercise schedule for later today and it always pushed it out a week from today). There’s also a Maintenance History (which seems to start completely unpopulated, so it’s not pulling any prior data that might have existed in our old OnCue records), but I could care less about this compared to being able to see the health of my generator while it’s running.

I love my Kohler generator, but this new app is a HUGE step backwards for us owners, and I really hope Kohler addresses these major shortcomings as quickly as possible. They should delay turning off the OnCue app until they can get their act together with this new app. I have zero interest in replacing the OnCue app with this one until this one provides the same level of critical generator health information that we’ve had for years with OnCue.

  • OnCue was SO much better

New app doesn’t have the robust information of generator status parameters nor the options to remotely control generator vs the previous ONCue app. Very disappointing! Big downgrade in features/functionality.
  • Phoneguy65

I agree with all the other reviews, the OnCue was so much better. Like everyone else is asking, why did you get rid of all the parameters? OnCue was so much more user friendly. If your going to make a so called “upgrade” then it should be better then the last app.
  • Downgraded app

Can’t see the important information like oil temp, battery voltage, oil pressure, why downgrade the app. OnCue had a lot more information about the generator then this new app. Very disappointed in the new app.
  • Makes no sense

Major downgrade from OnCue. You can’t start the generator anymore to perform a non scheduled exercise/ test and you can’t see the oil temps or % of power being used. All the good things are basically gone, really not sure why I would even use the app anymore….. pointless.
  • Vs OnCue

So far this new app falls short of the features that OnCue provided. I can no longer see the oil temperature, controller temperature, output voltage, output frequency and total controller hours to list a few data points. These are all data points that are available (and were displayed in OnCue) but for some reason are now hidden from the user. This data is especially important to monitor during a prolonged power outage. I can only hope that this is just the first stab at the app and they’ll come back and add these features soon. Otherwise this is a big step in the wrong direction.

  • Literally trash

This is worse than oncue? Why would go backwards and remove import details about the generator about it's running parameters to customers? Big deal you added a maintenance log, paper works just as good. Generac's app gives way more details than this and these generators are supposed to be used in a commercial space? Good luck with that with 0 detail for customers.

  • Missing Features

This app is missing the generator temp, controller temp, engine RPM and voltage at the winding. I used this to monitor when it was running. I feel like this new application is lacking more than the old OnCue application. Yes, the app looks sexy and such but without this information it really doesn’t help much. Is there a way to view this information in the new app? Frustrated customer!
