I’ve emailed the company with no response. I purchased this app for my wife who’s fighting cancer. However, it does not show that on her phone even though we have everything shared. Every app we’ve ever purchased, everyone in the family can use??? Also, this app does not show up under settings with every other app on my phone?? I need some assistance

Thank you for your inquiry! Please note that the app can be downloaded simultaneously on different devices using the same Apple ID, but our app does not support family sharing. Regarding your email, we strive to respond to our users in a timely manner, including via email. We have carefully checked our inbox and do not see your email. There might have been a technical error. Please write to us again if you still have any questions. Best regards, Igor.

Email link broken

Tried to contact developer. Email did not work. Just started using and some food not listed.

No Access to GL for Free Version

Downloaded to check glycemic index and load for various foods. But app requires you to purchase a subscription for this. Kind of silly to offer a free version of the app without this feature which is the main purpose of the app. Should make money on other value-added features not on the primary feature of the app.

Response from developer

Dear Dalmazio, Thank you for your review. However, I would like to point out that your comment is misleading other users. Firstly, there is no subscription, but only a one-time purchase. You pay a small amount once in a lifetime and get full access to all the features. Secondly, the free version includes a full food database continaing glycemic index without any restrictions, which is very convenient for the most of the users, while for the others, there is an option to upgrade to PLUS. Best regards, Igor

Can’t put on my phone without repurchasing!

I bought this on my iPad, and when I opened it on my phone, it wanted me to pay again. Also, I find it has fewer foods than I am accustomed to on food lists.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback. If you have installed the app on a new device and previously purchased it on another device, you just need to click the "restore" button on the purchase screen of the new device. Please ensure that both devices are using the same Apple ID. Regarding the food list, we appreciate your input and are always working to improve and expand our database. If you have specific foods you’d like to see added, please let us know. Best regards, Igor

Avoid!!

Waste of money, you can’t use the app without paying and when you get access, you can’t look up foods that are not in there very small selection or calculate any GI. I added it Rye bread and it was giving a much higher gi than it actually was and you can’t amend it so its not accurate at all

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback. To access the full functionality of the app, you can upgrade to PLUS with a one-time payment equivalent to the cost of an average meal, providing lifetime access. However, you can still use the app for free to look up GI values. Please note, the app does not calculate GI as it's technically not feasible, but it can assist with calculating glycemic load accurately. If you encounter unexpected results, please double-check your input data to ensure accuracy.

Tricked into paying

I feel like I was duped. The app sounded perfect til I had to pay first before accessing. I signed up and paid and then entered the app. It was immediately clear that this was not as expected or promoted. There is no contact information and I cannot find a way to get a refund.

Response from developer

I'm sorry to hear about your disappointment. The app description and screenshots are designed to provide an accurate representation of what the app offers, and I apologize if your experience didn't meet your expectations. Please note that while there is an option to upgrade to a premium version with additional features, you are not required to pay upfront. You can continue using the app as a free user if you prefer. Additionally, if you encounter any issues or have questions about refunds, you can contact me directly through the app or via the email provided in the App Store. I'm here to assist you and address any concerns you may have. Thank you for bringing this to my attention, and I appreciate your understanding. Best regards, Igor

Great app!

One of the best apps I have used. All the functions work. There are a number of different ways to sort lists in addition to search. I especially like the ability to change portion size to get GL rather than just 100gm like most lists out there. Thank you for not making me purchase a monthly subscription! I purchased the premium to be able to use all the features, but it is usable in free version if all you need is GI number value and you can still see the color for GL indicating high, medium, or low.

Response from developer

Thank you for your glowing review! I'm glad that you found value in the premium version and appreciate that we offer both free and premium options. We believe in providing accessible tools for everyone, regardless of their subscription status. If you have any further feedback or suggestions, please don't hesitate to let us know. We're here to help and continuously strive to improve the app for our users. Thanks again for your support!

Can’t change measurement system

Can’t change from metric to imperial.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback. I understand your frustration with not being able to change from metric to imperial units throughout the app. While you can change units for weight tracking, I regret to inform you that the option to switch to imperial units for the food diary is not available at the moment. This is because most nutrition facts are measured in grams, which are typically used in the food industry for accuracy. I'd like to know if there are any other aspects of the app that you find challenging or would like to see improved. Your input is valuable to us as we strive to enhance the user experience. If you have any further questions or suggestions, please feel free to let us know. We're here to help.

Cannot be trusted

I cannot believe I paid for this app. I’ve found so many errors that I cannot use it anymore because it cannot be trusted. If I relied on this it could truly harm my diabetic family member. Also way too much junk food listed while real foods are left out, but when the numbers are wrong anyway it doesn’t matter. EXAMPLE — potatoes rate very high but potato salad is ok and showing GI and GL as both low/green. Wrong! So disappointed and wasted $25.

Response from developer

I understand your concerns, and I'm sorry to hear about your disappointment with the app. I'd like to address your example regarding potatoes and potato salad. While it's true that potatoes have a high glycemic index (GI) rating when eaten alone, the context in which a food is consumed can significantly impact its overall effect on blood sugar levels. For example, potato salad often contains other ingredients such as vegetables, which are rich in fiber and have a low GI. When combined, these ingredients can help lower the overall glycemic impact of the meal. Moreover, you can be assured that our database is the largest and contains the most, if not all of the known and verified GI values.

Good for now

I like that it has glycemic load. Other apps claim to, but don't. I gladly paid for the ad free version. I'm hoping in the future the developer will add real portion sizes. A lot of foods default to 100 grams, but they're not foods that are sold in grams. I spend a lot of times looking up conversions and doing math. I think there's a lot of potential here, refining the portion sizes would make it a lot better.

Response from developer

Thank you for your positive feedback and for supporting our app! We're glad to hear that you appreciate the inclusion of glycemic load and that you found value in upgrading to the ad-free version. Your suggestion regarding refining portion sizes is noted, and we agree that it could enhance the user experience. We're continuously working to improve the app, and refining portion sizes is definitely something we'll consider for future updates. Your input is invaluable to us, and we appreciate your insights.
