Great developer

Very useful app!

Works with Latest MacOS update

This thing works! Thank you, Iโ€™ve retracted my other review and re-submitting this one. Looks like the app-intents/shortcuts were bugged out on my previous version of MacOS.

๐Ÿค™๐Ÿผ Thank you, appreciate you updating it!!

Works great!

Everything works really well. Itโ€™s a great way to automate your journaling and notetaking workflows with Obsidian.

The Missing Link

... has been found.

Just ingenious in a bunch of ways, but especially the iOS macOS separate purchase.

Overall, I've barely touched the surface but see tons of use cases & usage coming.

Very Slick!

As a cross-platform electron-based app, Obsidian likely will never have shorcut support on its own. This makes creating powerful shortcuts super easy. This is turning into a key piece in my workflows.

The missing feature for Obsidian mobile!

Obsidian is a wonderful productivity tool, but the mobile app has major pain points in terms of always having to navigate between notes and vaults. Slow, cumbersome, and distracting compared to the desktop equivalent. Thankfully, this app lets you produce widgets and share sheet integrations in order to bring the efficiency of Obsidian into the mobile realm.

Now I can immediately go from my Home Screen to my daily notes or a specific note Iโ€™m frequently using. I use this while travelling to open a list of phrases and currency conversion notes. Itโ€™s also possible to make a widget that brings up a menu of several frequently used notes, which lets me get to any of my current projects quickly from a single widget.

You can so much more too, like selecting text in any app and appending it to different sections within a note. Thereโ€™s tons of shortcut functions like this if you want to go deep.

You will need to learn about iOS shortcuts to make this work, but itโ€™s fairly straightforward as the app walks you through setup and is well-documented. The developer is very responsive on support too. It was well worth a few minutes of setup to streamline everything on an app Iโ€™m using many times a day.

Great app

Unfortunately, the continuous pop-up ruined it for me. Maybe there is a better solution.

Edit: thanks for the response. But, I was referring to the pop-up asking for money that becomes increasingly more frequent.

Hi Jacob, thanks for the update! The purchase reminder starts showing up after two weeks of trial time, true. Sporadically at first, but increasingly often over time -- that felt friendlier to me than just ending the trial period with a stop sign of sorts.

Glad it exists

It works good, has a 14 day free period (after that itโ€™s a one time purchase)

Hopefully there will come a day when obsidian itself gets shortcut support; but until then this is great.

Absolutely ESSENTIAL for Obsidian

If you like really digging into Obsidian, this app really unlocks even more of Obsidian's limitless potential -- I can't imagine ever not using Actions for Obsidian.

I like to pull data into Obsidian from all sorts of different places and apps. Paired with Apple Shortcuts, Actions for Obsidian makes it easy to do so.

This means I can use purpose built apps on Mac, iPhone, and iPad, or even cloud based tools, and grab text data, easily moving it into my vault.

THANK YOU for making this!

Nobody who is into Shortcuts and Obsidian should be without it.

Thank you very much ๐Ÿ––๐Ÿผ

This is GREAT... Except for...

... why does it open the splash screen on iOS everytime the Shortcut runs, putting me into the set up mode, after I've linked my vault, installed URI, and called back?

I see this option on MacOS but not on iOS.

This may be user errror (mine) but I'd love to get this working. It looks amazing and super useful.

Also, it continues to list vaults I've removed. Any way to clear those?

THANKS!!!

Short answer: You can change that behavior: Go to the app's Settings tab, and configure your preferred "End of Workflow" there. Long answer: It's not a splash screen you're seeing but the main app. Actions for Obsidian (AFO) becoming the focussed app like this on iOS is an unfortunate side effect of AFO translating between Obsidian and Shortcuts, and the way the Obsidian API is set up (no blame intended!). I can't do anything about it, and please believe me, I've tried *everything.* As for the vaults, please use the Feedback link in the app to send me a support request, and we'll figure it out!
