  • The best pixel app

You can animate but you can’t drag a bar or press a button to choose how fast it goes so, you have to add another scene. You can draw with or without pixels. You can upload images for reference. You can customize a color. This is the BEST pixel art app EVER!!
  • Absolutely Amazing!

I’ve tried a few of the other competitors first and this app makes everything similar to programs I’m used to while also being on my iPad. There are a few features from bigger, more popular apps, that I’d like implemented. The color palette and picker are very important but also in the way a lot. Even if I minimize the window it takes up just enough space to kinda annoy me, so I put it at the bottom of the screen. I am also not a fan of having to double tap to access certain settings for layers or tools. Would love to be able to slide through my frames in real time as well instead of having to tap the individual frame. I understand there are probably some limitations but have really high hopes! Can’t wait to see what will be done in the future.
  • One of the best art apps available

Dear reader, if you want to do pixel art on mobile, I am happy to tell you your search ends here. This is 100% without a doubt the best pixel art app available for mobile devices. Most pixel art app lack a lot of functionality you find on general art apps and desktop software, but Resprite feels like PC art software, and all for free?

I was impressed by how much functionality it has, but the fact the UI is customizable deserves 6 stars. I desperately hope that more generalized art apps take some notes.
  • Export glitch

In this app you can only export a total of 3 things before having to pay, which is disappointing, but I can understand the cash grab. However, there is a glitch in the export menu where even if you cancel before exporting it, one of the 3 is still used up.

I noticed this too late, so only got one export. I am very disappointed with this, and will be using a different app from now on.
  • Honestly Impressive

so far this is the best pixel art app i've used on the ipad by a significant margin. i especially love the customizability of the interface and the tap-and-hold eyedropper shortcut. my only issues so far: i'd love a faster way to swap between bush and pencil, and: a faster way to navigate and access the file/edit/etc menus would be really nice as well. perhaps an option to have them all laid out at the top like you'd normally see in a desktop program? anyways, fantastic app that i'd recommend to anyone
  • Misleading App - Users Be Warned

I’d have really appreciated it if the app was transparent about their trial policy. I didn’t even know it had one until I had already spent several hours working on the app. The exports (3) didn’t even work and yet they counted against my “limit” which really hurt as I hate to waste time. Now it wants my money. Well I’m sorry sir but you didn’t offer much. This app is ABISMAL compared to others which are far more inviting and not so cutthroat about in-app purchases. Best of luck to those who use this and the company as a whole.
  • Very promising tool!

I tried out two different recommended pixel art apps and this one won for me! This might be too big of an ask but can you add mouse and keyboard binding support for the app? It might be impossible for the mouse since all apps I’ve used mouse on that didn’t have pc versions before hand always defaulted to left mouse button pressed no matter what mouse button I pressed but I’d love to be the most efficient with all I do, pixel art included. P.S. Pilling away from the color picker should fine tune the color picking and adding more gesture support would be nice too. Those are my only complaints but besides them it’s good and solid.
  • The app we deserve

Resprite comes in and fills the need for a good non subscription pixel art editor in the same vein as aseprite on the computer. It works really well with a simple UI and all the tools you need. I hope in future updates 60fps is added for animations. It could be there already as I’m still learning this awesome app!
  • Decent but needs work with importing files.

The app is good overall and makes it possible to work on pixel art on the go. Unfortunately the import utility needs attention as there are obvious compatibility issues that are caused by trying to import anything besides another Resprite file. Asesprite, .gif, .png all have issues and I can’t get any of them to work. Looking at the compatibility page on their site regarding Aseprite files it looks like there are a lot of barriers that don’t allow for a very smooth experience. Since I couldn’t get Aseprite files to import correctly I decided to try .gif but nothing would get that to work either. Gives an error each time that “a file with that name does not exist” which is obviously wrong because if it didn’t I wouldn’t have been able to select the file to begin with. Very confusing. Would recommend only if you plan on working solely on your iPad until they work this out.
  • Amazing App

Works amazing and doesn’t feel like a mobile app compared to other editors. Highly recommended for anyone looking into pixel art or coming from a desktop app like Aseprite.
