Well designed app that works well with my Macs

Excellent app. Tech support very responsive.

Long time Screens user

I’ve been using screens for many years. The main reason was for the iPhone as the Mac vnc client has always been more than capable and now it’s actually quite good. However there isnt a solution for your phone, screens filled the gap perfectly. I dont believe developers should work for free and always pay for upgrades, major releases for the applications that clearly fill a need for me. That said, Endovia made the very common mistake that’s occurring with just about every software/app - going to a sub model. A VNC client/server is not a SaaS solution, it’s not salesforce and it doesn’t require (nor should it) hosting your credentials in their cloud. I made the mistake of paying for screens 5 not realizing it was for 12 months. I cancelled the sub and even though I paid for it, stuck with Screens 4. Eventually they’ll force us off and I’ll find another solution to remote in from my iPhone

Response from developer

Hi there, thank you for being a long-time user of Screens and for sharing your thoughts. Screens requires a subscription to support ongoing maintenance and the continuous development of new features. Additionally, we maintain the Screens Connect infrastructure, which demands ongoing investment in both time and resources. All of our plans, including Lifetime, cover your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and even Vision Pro, for which we launched a native version earlier this year. Our plans also include Family Sharing, providing great value. While some competitors may not update their apps as frequently, we consistently enhance Screens to ensure compatibility with new platforms and features. We’re currently working on Screens 5.4, which will introduce even more features, with exciting updates ahead. We can be reached at screens@edovia.com if you have any questions or comments. Cheers!

Excellent Application

The previous version did everything expected. This new version has added extra polish and features to that already excellent and reliable feature set. Very well done and well worth supporting future efforts with the subscription. Congratulations on making something that was already good even better!

The best of the bunch

I tried quite a number of Vision Pro VNC options before opting for Screens 5. The main deciding factors where:the stability and ease of connections, the user friendliness of the UI and most importantly the ease of operating my Mac remotely using only the hand gestures available on the Vision Pro. Screens 5 aced all 3 of these. As an added bonus it works equally well on the small screen of my iPhone pro max so can be used across all my devices with a single subscription. Prior to the AVP I used another VNC app, but am a very happy convert to Screens 5. Keep up the great work.

Overpriced Subscription for VNC Client

Really disappointed that Edovia have chosen to switch to a subscription model with this application. I appreciate the simplicity of the UI, but it's just a VNC Client, and there has not been enough ongoing development work by Edovia to warrant subscribing to this version. It's not reasonable to expect clients to pay monthly unless you are working to improve the software on a similar cycle.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback. Screens requires a subscription because ongoing revenue is essential for maintaining and enhancing the app. We're dedicated to providing a high-quality experience, and your support enables us to continuously improve the app with new features and updates. If you check the update history, you'll see that we consistently release improvements to make Screens even better. We also have exciting new features planned for later this year and beyond. While Screens may seem like "just a VNC client," we need to keep up with evolving technologies and changes in the ecosystem. For instance, we recently added support for Raspberry Pi Wayland, which required adapting to a different authentication method. Maintaining and developing an app requires significant time and resources, and the subscription model helps sustain these efforts. We appreciate your understanding and continued support. Thank you!

Rock Solid

It's always been the best remote client. This update refreshes things and is worth it.

Most of the functionality works on Vision Pro which is why I subbed, but here are a few ways to impr

- Reverse the Bluetooth mouse’s scroll wheel input direction for windows VNC clients.
-Allow the user to adjust the Bluetooth mouse’s movement sensitivity.
-Review the copy paste functionality, it doesn’t work consistently, and when it does (the first time), there is no ability to paste the copied text data, and subsequent copy or paste operations are ignored.
-Provide a configurable option to apply padding / spacing to the connected screen’s window (eg. when glancing at the start button on a windows VNC client, Vision OS thinks you’re about to resize the window from the bottom left anchor, you then need to look away from the start button while using your Bluetooth mouse to click the start button. Same scenario for the bottom right corner.

Thank you for your feedback. We appreciate your input and want to assure you that we are considering the features you mentioned earlier this week. We strive to improve continuously and value suggestions from our users. Cheers!

Another lifetime license..?

I paid for a “lifetime” license for Screens. I shouldn't have to pay for a second license when a new update comes out… What happens when Screens 6 comes out? Will I have to pay for a third “lifetime” license…? A lifetime license should cover all future updates… especially at this price.

Response from developer

Thank you for your feedback. The concept of a Lifetime plan was introduced with Screens 5. Before this, Screens used a paid-up-front model, including a license for the purchased version (v1, v2, v3, v4) but not upgrades to future versions, a policy in place since Screens 1.0 launched in 2010. With our switch to a subscription model, including the Lifetime plan, Screens 5 will receive ongoing maintenance and enhancements. There will not be future versions like v6 or v7; your Screens 5 plan ensures continuous access to the latest features and updates. Additionally, all plans, including the Lifetime plan, cover your iPhone, iPad, Mac, and Vision Pro. Previously, users had to purchase Screens separately for Mac and iOS. We sincerely believe that Screens 5 offers excellent value for the price. Have a wonderful day!

Best Remote Connect Client

Screens is by far the best remote connect client out there. Ease of connection is fantastic, and all of my connections are secure, making managing all of my remote servers incredibly ease and convenient. Their support team is also incredible, responding quickly and efficiently to any questions I have or issues I run into. That alone makes this an app worth checking out, if you haven’t already.
