  • fun game but needs a few enhancements

This is a great game that can require both careful planning and creativity. Different levels provide you with limited set of tools for completing varying objectives, and the fact that you are trying to direct falling drops of liquid with their intrinsic randomness both adds to the games difficulty and provides creative solution possibilities. A few enhancements would make this game more enjoyable for me to play: (1) provide an easy way to revisit previously completed levels (by level number) without having to work your way up from the first level, (2) allow the user to return to the same position in the level he was playing when he returns to the game after having to leave the application while in the middle of a level, (3) provide the ability to bypass the introductory zooming-around at the start of each level -- this cute bit of fluff can add 30 seconds to the start time of a level.

  • Challenging and Fun

Enigmo is definitely a fun and challenging game that has some great graphics and controls. I've yet to run into any bugs or problems. There are a few things that i wish were included, like a tutorial to help teach you the basics. The levels get pretty challenging right away. The one thing that really bothers me about Enigmo, is that while there are 50 levels. Once you beat a level and move on, you can't go through all the ones you've beaten whenever you want. So if you like level 32, have fun replaying all 31 levels before it just to replay the one you like. I'd like to see the option of going to any level of your choice once you've passed it, and before you complete all 50. I'm only on level 11, and would like to show my friends a few of the levels i've come across, but can't. I'd like to see that in the next update. But for the most part, Enigmo is a fun time consuming game that will definitely challenge you.

  • A truly fantastic puzzle game

I've played a number of puzzle games on the App Store, and so far this is the best one. Most other puzzle games for the iPod/iPod Touch are of the basic "falling blocks" type, with some variation on the rules for variety. These are fun, and have their place. This game, however, is a masterpiece. Like "The Incredible Machine" of old school PC gaming fame, this game involves using a set number of components to create a Rube Goldberg type machine to get an object from point A to point B; in this case bouncing a stream or several streams of water droplets though several obstacles to their destination. Though the game makes good use of 3D graphics (it looks quite spiffy!) it has the sense to stick to a 2D gameplay mechanic, which makes the game feel both old-school and strikingly new. It makes excellent use of the touch screen as well, using pinch gestures for zooming, and having an excellent interface for placing and rotating puzzle elements. This is definitely one of the best things offered on the App Store. I can't believe this is a cell phone game!

  • One of My Favorite Apps

This game is amazing. Excellent graphics, amazing interaction of the liquids, environments and the tools you are supplied with to come up with a solution. It is by far the best app I have found so far. Definitely not a "time killer" game. This is challenging, requiring complex planning and thought. It is learn-as-you-go: you have to figure out on your own what the tools do, how they interact, what the goal is in each scenario and how to go about making it happen, without instructions or hints. The graphics and movement of liquids is amazing and even beautiful. I do agree that it would be nice if there were an option or way to view your completed "creation" when you are finished, before moving on to the next level. I try to zoom all the way out as soon as I make my last adjustments and am usually able to get at least a glimpse of it before the next game screen comes up. It is partly translucent so you can see a little of your solution behind it. But an option to see it before you move on might be a nice option to add on.

  • One of the best games on the app store

This game was worth every penny and more, i hope the developer isn't selling themselves short because of people complaining about prices on the store. This is a very, very fun game. This is the game i have found myself playing the most, putting it down and picking it right back up. It is challenging and has stumped me a few times, only to come back later and see one of the levels in a new way and figure out how to beat it. Very few games have this much repeat gameplay. It has very smooth graphics, very good controls, doesn't get old easily and is expandable with in-game online download of new tracks, one of its best features i wish were on other games.

  • Maddeningly addictive

I bought it, for $2, and almost against my will, until I reached, what? level 13, and got a headache. (Does anybody remember a Commodore 64 game of similiar concept? Driving me nuts trying to remember. It was dry, but you connected dozens of tools.) Level 8 was tough, but rewardingly so. This on the iPhone was brilliant. I see myself killing time at airports all around the world with it. The gameplay -- the physics and the detail--is well worth $2 or $10, and so much more rewarding than I thought. Thirteen levels and my head hurts though...yours will, too, and you'll regret blowing blowing off your Sunday as much as I did. Wonderful iPhone adaptation, developers.

  • An excellent puzzler, controls need a little work

I have two minor issues with this great game. 1. Sometimes, it's too easy to accidentally move carefully placed objects. 2. At times, I'd like to see the "whole picture" of the water workflow. Pinch zooming in/out is not always ideal (and sometimes moves carefully placed objects). So a few enhancements I would suggest are 1. How about a switch which toggles between "whole picture" mode and the current zoomed area. Maybe replace that underused "?" icon (and move the instructions to another menu)? 2. Have a lock feature on placed objects (another toggle switch?) so that they cannot be accidentally manipulated. 3. On completing a level, the screen should zoom out to show the whole completed water-flow. This would be a nice visual feedback on the accomplishment. Besides my remarks above, it's a superb game and happens to be my buy on the app store (when it was $5). Money well spent.

  • Don't pass this Game up!!

I saw this game when it first came out, and I everytime I looked at it I would pass it up. I would think oh.. This looks boring or, this isn't my type of game. Then one day I couldn't find anything good to download so I saw this game again and decided to just read the reviews. I saw that the game was ranked number 1 in some iPhone applictions conference, so I said "what the heck, it can't be too bad".. HOLY COW!!! This game is Awesome.. I have never had so much fun. Great job people!! And for the people who put a bad review because they thought this game was boring and to hard... My 9 year old nefew can play this until he wears my battery out. He has gotten to level 11.

I hope to see more games like this. Great job!!!

  • Perfect pocket puzzler

I bought this game the first week it was available for $10 and I've gotten way more than my money's worth out of it. I can see it being difficult for first-timers though, I would suggest trying the demo available for the Mac version first. I've played through the levels that came with it three times now, and have downloaded a few of the user-created levels as well. The ability to download homebrew levels make this game infinitely replayable. Pangea does great work but I'd like to see them create some original content for the iPhone/iPod Touch instead of just ports from their Mac games (mainly because I've played them all already).

  • Confusing

Here are a few things I did not like about Enigmo... 1. The tools to get the water inot the buckets are not explained anywhere. Many of the items look very similar and act very similarly. There is a purple drum and a red drum that look to me to be the same and act the same . 2. The manual is not included in the game but a link from the enigmo website which isn't exactly iPhone optimized. Then the manaul is certainly not iPhone optimized, which makes it ahrd to learn how to play the game on the phone. Instead I will have to download the PDF on my mac and read it there. 3. No tutorial. Sure the game is self explanatory but it would've been nice to get a basic introduction of the more basic tools and then eased into the more confusing or complicated ones. 4, This is a small one but still relevant the "bonus" score is the actually score you will get for the level you get 0 points for merely completing the level if you take too long which to me seems like you are being punished even eventually completing the level In the end it takes too much trial and error to complete the levels with no real benefit or encouragement to continue.
