  • It’s been 4 years since an update, I hope it’s not dead

    I’ve been using the shopping app since 2008, and I am heavily invested in it time-wise, and customization-wise. It does everything I wanted to do, however, the lack of Dark Mode is pretty blinding at times. I also paid for the subscription once for a year, but didn’t really get any value into it. If it was something else, like maybe a few dollars a year, and they updated the app, I would pay it to support the developer.
  • Lost all my lists epic fail

    I have used this app for years and it has been reliable. It took a long time to get all the products we purchase regularly added so initially it took longer than a paper list. Once I had everything added it was really helpful though. After the most recent update I have decided to delete the app for good however. I sat down and populated my list with a weeks worth of groceries. When I opened the app at the store everything was gone. As if it were a new install. I restarted both the app and my phone but it was gone. I did my shopping from memory. Now I need to go back to the store as I wasn’t able to remember everything. Back to a sheet of paper for me. Even my notes app would be more reliable.
  • No longer working

    So i was shopping last week when in the middle of shopping, my grocery list disappeared on me. I was perplexed and frustrated. I did my best to get the other items that I could remember, but just befuddled. Then I noticed ALL my lists were GONE.
    After a couple of days, I recreated my lists and started using them. Yesterday I went to as an item and got a notice that I had deleted the lists, which I had not.
    I sent a screen shot to support and was informed that they had recently deleted all lists from non Gold subscribers. “But we sent out an email letting everyone know.”
    I never saw the email. I suspect it was in my spam folder.
    So now, there of ZERO point of having this app. I’ve been a user for 12 years, I’ve been fine with only gold subscribers having access to customize, but I won’t be forced into yet another stupid subscription model. Deleting.
  • Kidnapped my lists for ransom

    After using the free version of this app for years all of my lists disappeared on March 14. I finally found their one & only email in my spam box informing me that unless I switched to the gold plan they would be gone. OK, so it is probably my most used app and I have spent years organizing lists, aisles in stores etc so I will pay the .99 per mo. especially since I could now use the app on my Apple watch, well after subscribing and thankfully getting my lists back the app on my watch is blank. Another email to customer service and I found out that the watch list isn’t working (even though it says it does in the description) and “they’re working on it”. Well we’ll see, they haven’t updated the app in over 4 years… it’s definitely time to upgrade this app!!!
  • When it works I love it

    I have used this ap for years. Everyone in the family keeps it on their phones and everyone adds items as needed. I can stop at the store at any time and know that I have everything people need. Lately we have had some issues where it doesn’t update between devices and that causes problems. When it does work, it is terrific. If it could update from Alexa that would be even better.
  • Scam

    I have been Loving this app for so long. Until the other day I went in, and all of my lists from over 5yrs were all gone. No explanation. I wrote to support and they said they had emailed and told us this would happen unless we paid to be a gold member. A pop up in the app would have been a smarter idea to inform people.

    There was nothing in my inbox or spam inbox to explain this change. They said I now had to pay for my lists the full $8.99 when I have been a loyal member for so many years. Couldn’t even offer a discount to reward my loyalty!

    I hesitantly paid the $8.99 as I have so many important lists that I rely on and no lists have come back. No instructions on how to get them back either. Very disappointing to the least!!
  • Mediocre app, terrible customer service

    I’ve used this app for years. It’s a basic app, nothing fancy at all. Despite the random bug that never got fixed (chicken broth would appear and/or disappear on my lists, same thing with green peppers.) I continued to use the app because the interface was familiar and I had created workarounds over the years.
    Not a SINGLE update or bug fix in 4-5 years, but they now expect me to start paying for it? I reached out to customer service and never got a reply as to why the sudden change and why I should consider paying for it.

    Good luck, I’d rather wander aimlessly through the grocery store than pay for this garbage app.
  • Suddenly Subscription Only?!

    I have used and loved this app for YEARS! All of a sudden simple features such as adding a new list item are available by subscription only?! I’d have happily paid a one-time fee to purchase the app, but not paying a subscription to keep a list, despite liking it a lot over the years.
    Hope you rethink and allow a single time purchase option. And respect long-time customers by putting previously available features behind a paywall. Until then I’ve switched to the Whole Foods app.
  • App suggestions for Shopper replacement

    Hope other loyal Shopper app users will post their replacement app.

    Noticed history and favorites no longer working. Didn’t realize it was not local data. And checked App Store reviews and learn shopper is abandon ware and they shut down the sync server.

    Paid for gold for several years to get watch app sync which is still working as “good” as always. (Good = 1 out of 10 times it totally fails to show list. I always thought the fails were Bluetooth related. But now I think it is hitting a authentication server somewhere which will stay up until the last user cancels gold.)

    I have tried to replace Shopper app several times without success.

  • Do NOT Purchase

    I have been a shopper user for many years. Currently pay for the app at Gold level. I recently had a syncing issue with the app, contacted customer support, no response. The telephone support number is disconnected. I deleted the app and reinstalled trying to fix the issue - now I can’t log on. Contacted support via email, said they will get back to me. Now some two weeks later and several additional emails -no response. As others have said, it is time to find another app and cancel my subscription.
