Super great sudoku features

One thing I wish it had was a dark theme (inverted colors, essentially) for playing at night/in the dark (which I do sometimes if I’m having trouble getting to sleep). The white is too bright and the number colors and yellow cell fill isn’t very distinguishable with low brightness and night-shift screen mode on. It would be pretty nice to have a night time screen option. Otherwise, this is a great sudoku app: convenient pencil marking mode and number marking mode with useful hints and explanations of more advanced solving techniques. Also nice to be able to see average solve times for puzzles.

Cate

I play a few Gateshead day to kickstart my brain. Love how I can change the settings to get exactly the style of game I like. Great app. No problem.

Best Sudoku App Ecer

I could not imagine how you could make this better. It has unlimited puzzles and I can also enter my own or even take a picture to enter a puzzle. The puzzles from the app have way more detailed levels than just easy, med and hard, and the levels really work. Go up one level and the puzzle is definitely a bit harder. The best part is the tutorials. I have learned many new tricks for solving puzzles using this app.

Good fun

This app suits my novice ability just fine and is a change from pen and paper sudoku and also easier as I don’t have to carry a book with me.
The iPad is a neat package and is generally with me everywhere I go, the app is on home page and is played regularly.

Easily the best

Like others have written I have tried quite a few and the rest don’t come close. Loads of levels and the camera scan is great for taking them from newspapers.
I started with the free version and was soon willing to pay for the full version.

Sudoku to the Max

This is the most totally awesome Sudoku available on the Apple store. Multiple configuration options; play levels; undo/redo; and an outstanding AI to drive it all. The play controls are logical and never do things without your direct acceptance. The learning mode, coloration, and true simplicity of play are outstanding. All in all it is well worth it's price.
My big recommendation is to increase the number and diversity of puzzles at each of the levels as I find that I am playing some fairly often.

Best Sudoku I have ever played!

Tried many and feel no need to ever try another one again. Am still on the 'Simple' (by no means the easiest level) and have a long way to go to get near the best players. I have never got my head round to playing with 'pencil' marks, and my games are only compared to others who do not use 'hints' or 'pencil'.
Simply brilliant version of Sudoku!!!

Sudoku

Since my review a year ago, I continue to be happy with this sudoku. No other product comes even close.

Excellent learning tool. Pick a style that allows clues and work thru a higher difficulty puzzle. When you get stuck, get a clue and if that is not enough, ask for more help. At any point in the puzzle, go to learning button to get a complete understanding.
There are so many difficulty levels, so you can choose a level that you can solve, then move up as you get better.

Brilliant

Excellent version of Sudoku - the well defined levels make it a joy to play: quick and easy to pass some time or fiendish to keep you challenged for hours. The hints and their associated explanations are really well written and implemented so as to help you develop your Sudoku-solving skills. One of my favourite games, and one I always come back to.

Best Sudoku game!

I have downloaded and played with most Sudoku games out there. This is by far the best one. It's great for every level of Suduko player and has as many helpful tools as you want, or don't want to use.

Features that stand out for me....

Very easy to concentrate on one number and fill in many boxes with a single tap on each box.

Easy to switch from a pencil mark to a solid number because it has 2 number pads.

Many different Levels of play. At first I didn't understand why the developer put so many different levels in. I now really appreciate the different levels and can pick one depending on how relaxing, or taxing I want the game to be.

Great import features. I enjoy importing the Sudoku puzzle from our daily paper and the one in USA Today for a different variety.

The undo until solvable tools is great if you mess up and want to go back to where you made the mistake without redoing the whole puzzle.

The hints are very good at explaining the logic behind how a pencil mark can be removed or why a number can be placed. This game has explained and solved puzzles that others said were unsolvable.
