Description of Cleartune

"My most indispensable app is my guitar tuner, Cleartune. None of the old visual or analog tuners are as precise. I've even taken it on stage with me!" - Rosanne Cash "Cleartune and Clockwork are my most used apps." - Ezra Oklan (Nicole Atkins, Norah Jones, Antibalas Afrobeat Orchestra, Matt Beck (Matchbox 20), Chico Hamilton, Arnie Lawrence) "I've been having trouble with interference on stage with other tuners for the iPhone. Used Cleartune last night before a gig and had no problems with stage noise. Excellent tuner for bass." - Rob Calder (Kanye West, Angus and Julia Stone, The Break and Repair Method, Ghostface Killah) Used in the making of the Gorillaz album "The Fall" Follow us on Facebook at ----------------------------------- • Featured in Electronic Musician, Matchbox Mag, Making Music Mag, Premiere Guitar, MacWorld, Apple Staff Picks, Worship Leader Mag, Acoustic Guitar • Spotted in use backstage by The Black Keys, C.W. Cleartune features a unique "note wheel" interface allowing you to quickly find your pitch, paired with a highly responsive fine-tuning meter for the perfect tune. With support for custom temperaments, transposition, notations such as solfège, and adjustable calibration, Cleartune packs more power than most pro tuners, yet is simple enough for everyone to use. Cleartune can tune acoustic or electric guitar, bass, bowed strings, woodwinds, brass, piano, tympani and any other instrument that can sustain a tone. Reviews of Cleartune

  • Needs Updates

I’ve had this app on my phone for years, multiple generations of iPhones.

It used to be great, super handy for practice or any sort of musical question. Sadly, for the past couple years it has started to freeze constantly. It’s like it can’t handle too much noise, just a few things then it freezes and I have to restart the app to get it to work.

Seems like a relatively easy fix, no sign of improvement thus far. Obviously an app will never be as good as a physical tuner, but this was at least a good option at one point in time.
  • Love it, hoping for playback improvement

I have found a lot of great use for this application as I am a double bass player. I just wished that it would allow the playback drone over Bluetooth. As it stands, I can only hear the drones from my tiny little iPhone speakers (bad for low frequencies) or through headphones. If this issue could be resolved it would make it the perfect application for me and I am sure many others.
  • Okay

I am not a teacher, or professional musician, I play a guitar for the joy it gives me. This app is great, when it works. It tunes precisely, but suddenly gets stuck on one note. There is nothing I can do to force the needle to move again. It is incredibly frustrating.
I went to the App Store to see if there has been an upgrade, but it appears that nothing has been done to repair this in two years.
    Please please repair this App.
