  • Doesn’t fix the biggest (to me) bug

I don’t care about ranking or animations. (I hated the way Klondike Three seemed to always shows three cards. I discovered one could fix this by turning off the “enhanced trash pile” setting, which was not obvious, at least to me.). Now, if only they could fix the bug that makes it freeze for no reason, which is why I installed the new version in the first place.

Update: the developers now claim it is only on my device (iPad). In order to contact them, I have to fill out a form with lots of information (name, device model, OS version, and on and on) that I have already filled out at least twice. I’d be happy to contact them, but not like that.

  • Solitaire simplicity

I no longer need to worry that a card might be missing from the deck!
  • More intrusive ads with each update.

I like this game app. I resort to it often. I can play a game with one finger or thumb. I think that if I win a game that I should be exempt from the ad pop up. I understand that the developer needs the ad revenue, but it seems that with each update the ads become more and more intrusive. Sometimes the “X” is hidden. Sometimes no matter what you do it sends you to the App Store. At that point I quit playing. I’m considering finding a new solitaire app to download. I’ll miss the stats showing the best performance on each deal though.

  • Gameplay is good, bloated ads

I have been playing Solebon for years now. Have loved it. I am even fine with ad-revenue based support. However, ads are starting to get deceptive and annoying and disruptive...perhaps intentionally. I’m sure they want everyone to buy their paid version, but I’m cool with ads as long as they are not video or audio-based ads that disrupt the podcast or music I’m listening to on my iPhone while I’m playing solitaire. If Solebon keeps this nonsense up, I’m gonna delete and look elsewhere.

  • Adverts are annoying

Used to be great, but pointless adverts spoil the experience!

Agreed, it has had ads for a couple of years, but equally it had years of no ads when it was original released. This was one of my first apps downloaded and used to love playing it, but only use it occasionally now due to the ads. It has completely ruined it.

The app has had ads for many years. You can always upgrade to the no ads version.
  • Buggy

While this is a good app for lots of solitaire type games, it’s very buggy. In between each new game it automatically goes to an Ad that you have to wait to count down the seconds to X out of. And then lately, it just takes out of the app completely and to a random website. The ads were annoying enough. Now having to deal with spam ads and redirecting, it’s almost too much. I’ll keep using the app periodically but the redirecting and ads are starting to get to be too much.

  • I'll-behaved ads mar the experience

What is really annoying are the ads that change the iPhone (X, iOS 11.3.1) orientation from portrait to landscape, then on top of that don't have a way to close the ad. You have to re-orient the phone, swipe up to exit the app, then open the app again in order to clear the add and get back to playing. Sometimes you have to close the app twice. I don't mind having an ad after each game completion, but they shouldn't be allowed to change the phone orientation and there should always be a way to exit the ad without having to exit the app! I always play in portrait mode, ads should be well-behaved and not be allowed to change attributes such as the user's aspect ratio/orientation or other more intimate settings.

  • Updates are sneaky

Updates often state ‘bug fixes’ but they also introduce new ads, and they’re becoming more intrusive. The latest have sound and video, and can’t be easily dismissed. The introduction of sound and video means my radio station running in the background gets stopped each time an ad appears - highly frustrating.

There have been a few updates that have made me consider deleting the app, with the latest fuelling this feedback and making me consider deleting the app more than ever before.

Ok call them animated ads - and they turn OFF any sound that’s running. For example, as I just screen recorded to send you - when the animated ad starts at the beginning of a new deal, my radio stops playing. Likewise if I have iTunes playing, it stops with the ad starting.

Nothing sneaky is going on and there has been no change in the ad setup for a very long time. We do not allow ads with video or sound. Please contact us with any specifics so we can resolve this for you: http://www.solebon.com/contact.html
  • THE ADVERTS ARE TAKING OVER

    *UPDATE!*

After posting this review and receiving a response from the developer that they apparently ‘do not allow video ads’ the unskippable ads that were popping up did happen to disappear for a while. This is until the most recent update. Now there are horrible pop ups with animations trying to get you to play little word game demos that you can’t skip! It seems that the developers like to add this sort of thing back in occasionally to make some cash until people kick up a stink about it and drop it for a while.

Really not a great way to treat people!

This used to be a great little free app, with unobtrusive ads that would occasionally appear between games, but now they have started playing video ads right in the middle of a game!! So you’ll be looking at the cards and planning your next move when suddenly there is a full screen video of a golden retriever wolfing down a bowl of spaghetti!! They have ruined the playing experience for a few extra pence per user! Totally awful!

  • I won all but 1

I started out and played all 50!games...I played all of them until I won and then went to the next one and so on. Some I won on the first try..some I played a dozen times. Then I picked out the ones I enjoy the most, I think 9 of them and I play each of them in alpha order until I win in between doing my housework, taking part in many social activities and at 84 years of age, it keeps me on my toes to play these games every day. Make a game out of the games
