Simple, intuitive
I use this app every week to do my shopping and love it. It is simple, intuitive and incredibly stable. The new quantities and e-mail features in the recent update round out a nearly perfect iPhone app. It is one of top 6 apps that I use regularly.craigboo
impossible to use, skip this one
For $5, I expected much, much more. A monkey must've designed this program, it's hard to use. 1) No way to have multiple lists. 2) Trying to change the quantity sometimes resulted in taking the item off my list, sometimes it jumped to another part of the list cause of the index on the right side of the list. Rarely did it actually change the quantity. 3) Picking items to put on your list is not intuitive. 4) No way to add a note to an item. 5) The Share tab is just a big white screen with an Email button on it, all it does is a plain text email. Needs a way to sync lists between phones. 6) Checking items off your list takes 2 seconds, makes it really hard to check off items quickly. GroceryZen is not worth $5, I would pass on it until they add more features and drop the price quite a bit.Show lessGregoryHouseMD
Nice App, has some bugs
I really like this app and use it every week. It has a very intuitive interface and all the features I need. The only problem is that deleting items from the list is buggy. If, on the items screen, you Edit and start deleting items, instead of deleting items it scrolls you to another part of the list. If I delete a single item by swiping it, then the list will not scroll until the app is restarted. Fix those bugs and this rating will be a five. One feature I would like to see is to be able to tag an item with a small note. For example, 2oz, or get brand 'x'. This would not be a permanent note for the item, but just for a single trip.Show lessbitGrok

... but recent updates have improved this application a lot. I use Grocery Zen to shop so I was relieved when most of the maddening bugs were fixed. I'm waiting for the feature that allows me to sync, share and enter new items and recipes from my computer. Currently adding recipes manually is laborious. Whilst the new email feature is good I'd also like to be able to sms my shopping list (I know I know - doesn't EVERYONE have an iPhone or Blackberry?).Show lessDevonshire16
Excellent Grocery/Recipe List App!
This is a great app that includes a seperate shopping list for your recipes that includes photos. It breaks down all of your needs into aisles, ie. Produce, Deli, Dairy. You can add items to the master list if they are not there. The only thing that I would like to see is the addition of cooking instructions for you recipes, because it is only a list. If that gets added this would be a five star app for cooks and avid grocery shoppers.Show lessmpp_21
Great App
This is by far the best recipe/grocery app around. The grocery list feature is amazing. The only change I wish would be made, is for the recipes. Typing them in on the iphone by hand takes forever, and if I could update a website and sync them, that would be perfect! But still worth the price for sure.Show lessFolioad
Needs quantity in recipe
I love how this app is easy to use and it makes shopping easier, but the recipes don't have a quantity so you don't know if "flour" means 1tsp or 5 cups. Also if you add two recipes to your list that contain some flour then you end up with "2 flour". If this were fixed I would rate the app 5 stars, and for the price this functionality should be there.Show lesssyfoddler

I would have given it 5 stars if it had come with more recipes AND you could modify the number of items for a shopping trip AND you could add cooking instructions for a recipe. It's nice though to be able to add something to my shopping list whenever and not worry about forgetting something or going home to get my list!Show lessKikihow

Simple, does what I need it to do
I started with SplashShopper, but its interface (not to mention the sync issues) drove me to find a simpler alternative. GroceryZen works for what I needed from an app like this. I love the ability to quickly & easily rearrange & add aisles to match my store's layout, and adding items is very easy as well. I've been in touch with the developer about a couple of enhancements I'd like. More text displayed in the shopping list is supposed to be in an update, and on the issue of data backup outside of Apple's process, they're looking at it. Greg's a very responsive developer.
