Still the best

I have looked at so many grocery list apps. Either they are general purpose list apps which are always missing needed features or they try to be much more than a shopping list app with recipes and prices which will be impossible to maintain. I have used this for years and it’s still my favorite. Having the ability to have different stores, aisles, departments or even in store or not for the different stores for each item is a huge feature. This allow me to use this for say a hardware store and the food items won’t show up when I’m at the hardware store and visa versa.

It will take a bit to get things set up but it’s worth it and will dramatically cut your shopping time down while reducing forgetting things.

Great App

I have been using this app for several weeks. I love it. It is easy to use, easy to add new items, easy to create store layouts, and easy to create my shopping list.

Ok grocery app. Could use some spit and polish.

Grocophile is a pretty ok effort for a grocery list app. I certainly appreciate features like wifi and Dropbox syncing. Unfortunately, the app crashed several times while attempting to setup Dropbox syncing. The interface is ok. It's a little quirky and somewhat confusing. After playing around with it and attempting to use it for a store trip, I ended up going with a different app. Just didn't work for me as an everyday shopping list app.

The shopping list of tomorrow, today!

Let's face it phones are becoming so much more these days. As I add items to the list it reminds when compiling the next shopping list to see if I need more ( not a notification type reminds, but when I see the choice for mini wheats I look to see if I need more)

And on an iPad it's easier to use in the store.

Bought it after the crashing problem I guess, been solid so far.

Grocophile

I have lost my data for the last time. It will not back up to my google account. It is more than frustrating when you are at the store and find all information that you have entered has disappeared then you have to spend a great deal of time rebuilding it.

I have started using Grocophile again and found it to be working great. It has not crashed in quite some time. I tried using some of the others and found them to be very frustrating. They have loaded every thing that is sold in the store. I only use a very small percent. It is cumbersome finding what you are looking for. With this App. you load only the things that you buy. That makes it much more convenient than the others. It takes some time to load your items but when that is done, much better. I highly recommend this App

Great app. Better than any other

This app realy puts control in your hands. Multiple stores, ordering items by isle, sorting, sharing lists are all perfectly executed by this app. Not having a large database is smart since I have a special diet and i don't like sifting through thousands of products I would never use. However, to speed up entering the items one would use, I would suggest adding a barcode scanner. Photo import would be nice as well. If it had a scanner it would be 5 stars.

Great Application AND Great Support!

The thing to realize about Grocophile is that it’s a highly customizable application. That being said, it’s good to go into the purchase of this app with the realization that it is most likely going to take some effort on your behalf to set it up the way that works best for your shopping experience. If you are looking for an application that you can download as you’re sitting in the parking lot of the grocery store and expect to immediately have everything set up exactly as you need -- well, this application might meet that need if you want to use the basic functionality of just writing a shopping list (yes, you’ll have to key in the items the first time you use the app unless if your shopping list only consists of the Flour, Eggs, and Chocolate Chips in the sample data). But do so knowing that the app has much greater potential. :) Grocophile can help you organize your list by aisle within multiple stores which are completely different from one another. You can show or hide items by store. You can check off items from your list as you’re shopping. You can hide your completed items. You can delete your completed items or the entire list. You can e-mail the list to others. You can search for items you’ve added previously. You can add multiple quantities of an item -> or even measurements of an item. The list of possibilities goes on… Of all of these features, however, I’d say the one I’ve been most impressed with is Grocophile’s application support. They are extremely responsive and accepting of questions and feedback. They’ve helped me understand how I can use the app to meet my needs. (So if you download the app and can’t figure out why it’s not working the way you expect it to, make sure to e-mail the app support team!)

Almost Perfect!

I have been extremely impressed with the product so far. It's easy to use, it's intuitive, and it makes it easy to shop according to the layout of the supermarket of my choice. This is great, because I typically shop at 2 different stores, each with a different layout. I love the fact that while you're shopping, you have the option to hide or show the items that you've already put in the cart, or to clear them completely from the list. It's also really simple to edit quantities, even while you're using the shopping list.

My wife also has an iphone, and this product has a feature to share the shopping list via wi-fi... EXCELLENT!

Two things to note... 1) This program does not come with an extensive list of products. You have to enter most things yourself. Personally, I prefer it that way, so it's actually a big plus for me - I'd rather add items to the list than have to sort through a long list of products that I never buy. However, if you can't stand typing into your ipod, you may want to look for a different product.

Not impressed either

App does not allow for creating more than one shopping list at a time unless you go through a very convoluted & time-consuming process to manipulate shop aisle data to set up pseudo shopping lists. User interface is also not well designed; not open to quick intuitive comprehension. Only worth buying if you mainly do your shopping in one store; question though: does that justify the price?

Not impressed!

I spent 20 minutes editing the groups and their content, and creating my first shopping list. When I came back into the application, all of my changes were gone! I'd even gone to the trouble of specifying my Google account details and uploading the data to Google Docs, but when I tried to restore (a) it asked me to provide the account details again and (b) the restore failed, even though I'd previously been told that the upload was successful. Pretty poor for an app that cost me AUD6.00 !!
