  • Don’t waste your time

Have used it for several years (8+) and was always happy with the basic functionality. New developer took over and they have made very few upgrades and issues continue to pop up without resolution. No leveraging of new technology (Face ID) and user interface is suffering from a lack of any attention. Look at the history of updates and you’ll see that this once popular app has been ignored by the new developers. But they are happy to still charge users an annual subscription. I have already begun looking for my next task app.

    Toodledo has become Toodledon’t.

  • Non-existent support

I have been a Toodledo user for over a decade, but they have recently declined significantly in quality. Syncing between the web interface and phone app are no longer reliable, features that made it easier to read task priority were eliminated in the last update and not restored, and support is non-existent. I have emailed support three times in the last three months, and I got one response indicating that my problem would be addressed “in the next update,” which it seems may never materialize. Looks like it’s time for me to get a new task app.

  • Most useful app I have

I have been using Toodledo for years and loosely use David Allen’s Getting Things Done approach of using Contexts and workflow to stay organized. It may have some minor warts, like it’s lame use of markup text in the detailed notes, but IMO 5 stars means outstanding, not perfect. I tried OneNote, Evernote and others and Toodledo is the best. You can keep it simple or be obsessive and it still excels.

  • PLEASE ADD A DARK MODE

PLEASE ADD A DARK MODE! I love having my to do list on my phone. It lets me add so many things “before I forget”. I am more productive and can better organize my day. Being able to sort the folders so you see certain categories of things first is awesome. However, the white background is so so bright. I would love to be able to use this app on dark mode with a black background and white text.

  • USE THIS ONE

No matter how much I research to do lists, I always come back to this one: easy on the eyes, clear, offers a ridiculous number of ways to organize and analyze your tasks. Nothing will get you around actually having to do the tasks. I don’t understand the ratings. I don’t get what people find to gripe about. Syncs beautifully with an iPad Pro. I will probably resurrect my paid subscription to get the subtask feature. Again, just get this one.

  • Another long term user

I've been using this app for around 10 years. I've tried others but this is still the best for me. It looks like the recent glitches have been cleared up.

Prior users DO have to FORCE an update FROM the web version TO your device once. After that, it appears to work well.

New owner, new development team? Yeah, looks like there were some stumbles. But don't punish them and yourself by missing out on the best Task/Note/List manager available. Toodledo has always hit the sweet spot between simplicity of usability and enough complexity to get the job done for me. No other app does as well.

  • Used for 10 years but new updates not working

I’ve used Toodledo for over 10 years, I’m a premium subscriber to their service and Always found it to be the best task management system out there until they got bought out and now more and more things keep getting broken or not working correctly. Definitely not the same level of dedication the founders put into maintaining this. My phone app will no longer stay in sync with the desktop app and shows 0 tasks until I do a forced sync from the server to my phone then a few days later goes back to 0 tasks and I have to force sync it again

Major issues with this new version the app takes forever to show me my tasks each time I open it now and crashes constantly. Something as simple as checking off a repeating task now takes about 5 seconds to update and show the next task.

You guys did a terrible job on this update and if these issues are not resolved soon I will have no option but to find a new task management system. Very disappointing.

  • Excellent since 2009

I’ve been using this app, syncing with Outlook and iOS devices since 2009. I’ve used other task programs but this one beats all. Imagine my surprise today when I looked at one of my devices and only had two tasks. Not good. That could go really bad with syncing turned on. I went through the simple help section which told me to force the sync in the direction from the Toodledo website to the device and boom, all my tasks were back. I think that’s the only problem I’ve had in over a decade with Toodledo.

  • Toodledo Is Back

I’ve been a paid subscriber for over ten years. During this time I have also been a Toodledo evangelist, telling everyone I could about it. I absolutely love the app and use it daily on my iPhone and use the web app as well. I was able to customize it to use the GTD categories so it’s essentially now ingrained in my life and work.

Recently, there was a significant bug with the previous update. I wrote the dev and received response that day. True to his word, the update dropped within a week.

I read in the comments that there might be an issue with the update causing a loss of info. My solution was to simply delete the old app and download the new version. Once downloaded then logging on caused the app to synchronize properly without the loss of any data. As a backup, tho, I also viewed all tasks on the website and printed that view essentially as a report.

This current update is great and has the added benefit of instant synchronization on opening of the app. While previously we had to manually synch, now it’s automatic.

Again, I’ve been a long-term paid user and am reviewing this app now because I think that it’s a great app that suffered from one bad iteration. That’s been fixed. It’s great and I love it.

  • Getting there

The newest release is getting closer, but still taking some steps backwards. One major issue remains for me: I was heavily dependent on sorting my tasks first by starred or not starred. This is fine. Then within the starred list I would sort by priority. This is still possible, but the mobile app no longer displays the priority visibly with the little colored triangles in the corner. It just sorts them and leaves you to wonder later what priority you assigned. You have to click on each task to actually see, which defeats the purpose of being able to visually see how you have sorted the list. Please bring this back for 5 stars! It must be easy!
