12 years of use
Been using it since I came out 12 some years ago. Not sure what more you can ask for out of an app. It’s a dictionary. It has every word I look up.
Ridiculous!
This has to be THE WORST dictionary ever! A dictionary should define a word- Period! It does not need to list EVERY possible use of that word as a separate entry!! And should not list every phrase the word is used in as separate entries!! Type in “A”, “And”, “At”, etc- and there are literally HUNDREDS of entries for the word! A few examples can be easily listed in the definition, NOT as separate entries!!
A dictionary SHOULD be scrollable- one should be able to type in a few letters and see the words beyond that in the entries, without having to change one letter to continue thru the list! For example: if I type “rad”… I should not have to change the “d” to an “e” to continue scrolling! Obscene slang words are generally not included in dictionaries, they are put in urban or slang dictionaries, and not listed hundreds of times in a row listing every slang phrase ever known! Misspelled words should not be listed as entries- the search feature would take a person to the proper spelling!
Don’t bother with this dictionary, it is not worth the aggravation!!

A 5-star app that STILL isn’t.
I’m still waiting for that simple bookmark sorting feature. 11 yrs and counting!
To the reviews that say there’s no thesaurus…follow the word links. Every word on any page is a live link to another page with more similar words. Isn’t that what a thesaurus is? Links to words that are similar?
It’s not a 3-star app either. I’ve used this app for years(iPad 2, 2012 I think?) but even after all this time, the bookmarked word list STILL has no sorting function, not even alphabetically. If you’ve bookmarked hundreds of words as I have, it’s a slog to do it manually. Grab a W word from most recent bookmarked words and drag it past all the other words to its rightful place at the bottom of the list. Now do that with each unsorted new word. The 2nd issue is not being able to backup said bookmark list as separate readable list file to store and print out for study purposes. All other mentioned attributes in other reviews are true. There are even adapted foreign word phrases like sotto voce and noblesse oblige, a good amount of slang, and outdated but fun words like snollygoster and flapdoodler that do have a purpose when no other word would do the job. And for the consummate wordsmith, the thesaurus feature can keep you entertained for hours. For me, it’s a 5-star app that isn’t. Add the aforementioned vital features and it’s worth a whole sky full of stars!

I’ve had this App for years and I absolutely love it! I use it daily for school.
A 5-star app that isn’t.

Excellent. Needs bookmark export.
This dictionary is far above average — excellent in many regards.
My one wishes that they would add the ability to export bookmarked words – e.g. for vocabulary building, or other uses.

Succinct and clear
This has been my favorite dictionary for years. I use several dictionary apps, but this dictionary stands out for the clarity of the brief definitions. It is available offline, and word definitions include less- and more-specific words, pronunciation, and an etymology section.
Has no authentic pronunciations
This app is not forthright about its "pronunciation feature". It claims it has "superior pronunciations" from three different English-speaking regions yet all it does is make your phone read it, ie. machine-pronounced that sounds flat and unnatural. This is NOT superior in anyway compared to what digital dictionaries normally provide: vetted human-recorded pronunciations with clear dictions and accents from native speakers.

Dictionary
I use it frequently. Like it.
Love this app
It is my go to for scientific terms and pronunciation of difficult words. And I can save them in a word list for review. Can not do without it.
