Online dictionary is broken
The online dictionary returns "no definition found" for EVERY word. The links or database entries have been changed so the *entire app* is broken. The only fix is to download & use the OFFLINE dictionary. Ironically, my old review found the exact opposite problem (below).
Old review :
“ Offline dictionary is broken"
The offline dictionary is severely out-of-date, gives very incomplete definitions, & using it causes the app to not give definitions at all & then crash. Needs some work. ~ "Noticeably improved in version 7.x" : This app has improved markedly since I wrote my previous review (left below for posterity). Most of my qualms with the application have since been addressed, leaving me with very little to be non content with. My sole issue would only be the "tiles" UI display for the word of the day. A list, or option setting for a list, display would be far more straight-forward to navigate. They added a history, which is extremely useful, & the commonly requested back button to reverse through the user's recent series of definition lookups. Kudos to the dev team for adding the most complained about features. Honestly, this had become again quite a good dictionary, & I can again recommend it without needing to list stipulations. ~~~ "A mess" : I'm not really sureShow lessDefinitions not working!
I've been using this app for a few years and have never had any problems with it until a few days ago. Normally when you start to type a word in to the search box it has suggestions. That doesn't work anymore. When I type in a word the definition page is blank. There are no definitions to the words I type in. This doesn't work anymore. I'm not sure what's going on, but I use this app daily. I use it to homeschool as well. Can someone help or possibly fix the problem?
Thank you for taking the time to read this review.

I’ve been using this app since I can remember having my first iPhone. (2010) I mostly use the thesaurus. It use to be to write my college term papers, as a teacher my students were required to have it, as a mom with a brilliant minded child w Autism it is used to provide a tangible/visible way for him to understand when one word can have two different meanings.
I enjoy learning a new word a day. I love that feature. This app also allows you hear how words are pronounced. This feature is incredibly helpful for people who may have learning disabilities, learning a new language - for me it helps because reading aloud is not my strongest attribute.Show lessDeveloper Response
