I've been waiting a year for this to become a native app. I've had GayCities on my iPhone as a web app for awhile now and I was always disappointed by the lack of potential this and most other web apps presented. Having this made into a native app with a maps feature is fantastic. I only wish that they would of have chosen to go with Google maps instead. Regardless, this is a solid app for the social and traveling gay and lesbian and I highly recommend it.
It's definitely nice to have a listing of gay places handy on the iphone. Obviously the listings are only as complete as their editors put them in, or, probably more importantly, as people fill out their own reviews and recommend new places. I urge everyone to spend some time recommending places on the website (can't do it from the iPhone). That said, there is a lot of content on here. The drawbacks to the app are that (1) you can't fill out reviews, and (2) scrolling through the list of cities can take a while, particularly if you want an international city which is at the bottom of the list. There should be a place to type in the city name, or jump to a letter of the alphabet. But overall, a very handy app.
This may not be a complete listing of all venues available, but is very usefull when in a strange city. I have used this application guides many times and is worth every penny I paid for it (free), keep up the good work. Just keep adding listings to it.
There are suppose to reviews for an iphone application not a forum on sexuality. I am more than as little shocked that Apple does not monitor these comments as it is clearly stated that language should not be hateful which many of these comments are. That said, this is a great app. While many of the findings seem to have been influenced by advertising dollars (there are some simply weird places located) in general, it works! It should be noted in order to write a review you need to download the program, so I suspect a lot of closeted individuals out there are having a good time writing abusive reviews while trolling the nearby hot spot.
Seeing how this App has only 30 or so US states in it, it's kinda useless for me. But, for the states included, it's good. I'll keep it incase there's an update for the other states, because it looks pretty promising.
As for Littleguy, since you have to download the App to review it, I think he's a closeted Gay. Do us all a favor and just come out already.

Thanks for this. I travel a lot and it always takes a few days to find a place and then more time to find others so now I have a nice long list. To all those who hate and continue to throw the good book at those they hate remember, "judge not less thee be judged". If u think by judging and hating others is going to get u into heaven quicker, well, keep it up and one day u will see. God loves everyone and aren't we supposed to be like Him/Her? God lives within us all and the sooner we stop judging and hating and begin to love one another like the almighty intended the better our lives will be. Our life is a test. How will you be graded?
My partner and I are planning a trip to Boston and Provincetown, so I thought this app could come I'm handy. I tested it with my home city, and it correctly identified the gay businesses near my address. I like being able to read reviews for the businesses, but I would like to know where they come from...there didn't seem to be a place to add your own reviews or comments. The app has a easy-to-use interface, and I expect it to be a big help in my future travels.
I don't understand why all the gay related apps are being targetted on iTUNES. Why does it matter to you guys.
This app works as promise. No crash or anything that the 1 star-ers said below. I usually don't write reviews but I can take the facts that we are being attacked all the time.

The newest update is terrific. Maps move with much more ease and now you can see a city map prior to arriving in the city which is great for planning purposes. It used to be i was in a new city, stacks of addresses, and yet still unclear where to go. Not anymore. These maps literally take me from place to place. Just used it in Puerto Vallarta. Great stuff.
