  • I Enjoy Using Indigo

After wasting my time with smartthings controller, I took a trial of Indigo and HS3. I immediately fell in love with Indigo. I have been using this iPhone app to go with my server ever since. It does appear to drain my iPhone battery quicker! I am not complaining though, because everything JUST WORKS. Those are the magic words. I spend less time fiddling with the app or the Mac server software and I instead enjoy the benefits of a fully automated home. Indigo integrates with Alexa really well. This iPhone app is really nifty giving overall control quite well. Highly recommended for upmarket, no nonsense, proper home automation that is reliable day after day.

  • Clean, quick, functional, perfect

Just tries to do enough, with a clean design. Very responsive. It's the perfect companion for the full Mac based application. Exactly what you need. Actually more user friendly than the Mac based app.

    Love it!
  • Brilliant app

This is a brilliant app, best home automation I have ever used. Five stars when they add the ability to change z-wave update times for battery equipment.
  • Good, almost great

Excellent program, like the interface and the great support. There are usually quick fixes and updates, although there are some issues that take time like the fix to get it working with iTunes 11. Overall this is a great program and I choose this over the smarthome java application for the isy99.
  • Professional App

I have been using this app for many years. It reminds me every several months to write a review so I finally got around to it. This app has done everything I've asked it to do with flying colors. It has remained stable over multiple updates and the updates have always arrived in a timely manner. I wish all apps were this competent. One outstanding feature is the reflection integration. This allows the app to connect via Wi-Fi or cellular and it sets itself up automatically without any configuration needed on the app.

    Wish I could rate it higher than 5 - it's a 10 for sure
  • Perfect App for Indigo

Easy to use, locates indigo server on LAN by itself- login and away you go. Control pages give you that perfect finish. Love it...
  • Top user interface for Indigo Software

If you're in to home automation then Indigo is the software for you. Indigo Touch is the App based user interface which allows you to control your home on custom pages that can build easily.
  • Keep the app updates and feautures coming!

Let me start by saying that Indigo is by far the most flexible, powerful, yet easy to use home automation platform available on the Mac. It allows for the seamless integration of IP and RF-based protocols including ZWave and Insteon/X10. It is definitely worth the (somewhat steep) price.

That being said, Perceptive Automation is a very small company (only 2 guys, last I heard) and as such they can be quite slow to deliver on updates and new features to their iOS app — though when they do deliver eventually, they often exceed expectations.

This app underwent a major overhaul about a year ago, adding many new and much needed features and a great facelift as well. That being said, there have been very few updates since — mostly bug fix/maintenance releases. Most disappointingly, Apple Watch and Notification Center widget support have still not been added. This is the primary reason for my 4-star review.

From reading around on the Indigo forums, it appears that the slow pace of updates is because Matt and Jay devote most of their time/energy to the Mac server/client. This is understandable and certainly made the most sense back when home automation was in its infancy. But as HomeKit and competing HA platforms bring iOS/mobile devices to the center of HA, Indigo will need to devote more resources to their iOS app to remain relevant.

  • Works well

I use it to access my heating via a control page: adjust thermostats, check temperatures and so on. It seems very robust.
