Accessible and easy to use.
This app is accessible and easy to use with VoiceOver. However, double tapping the play button doesn't play your dictation, instead, it gets stuck. Could you please fix it?jcdjmac
Free version is of no utility other than a demo
A work colleague advised me to download the “Dictate” app in a new temporary job but did not specify which version.
I downloaded the “Lite” version without reading the full description and wasted a large amount of time trying to troubleshoot why I couldn’t record more than 30 seconds- eventually I found the explanation in a “Note” somewhere.
i had to download the paid version at $26.99 AUD to dictate a small number of letters - the paid app looks pretty good, and is used regularly by my current temporary. I would have liked to know that I had to have the full version from the outset. The “Lite” app is no more than a demo.Show lessdebbiepf

Doesn’t even support a headset.

Works for a doctor doing dictation
We have been using the paid version and it's been working well. Use ftp with ssl to comply with HIPAA. It doesn't support tls session resume, but hopefully it gets fixed soon.DraconPern
Very poor
I'm not sure why people are complaining about it only recording 30 seconds. It says quite clearly that the free app has this restriction. Anyway, I wanted to try before buying but the recordings are clipped. Sentences run into each other possibly due to the voice activation but making some things incomprehensible. The controls are simple but the app itself is not very intuitive. I should have realised when the marketing copy was saying how much better it is than using a dictaphone with tapes. Seriously, do people still use those? No way I would spend money on this.Show lesstigre1852

Why do developers irritate people?
This is so typical of developers! There appears to be a move to test a person's patience beyond endurance and is often the reason I delete software and never buy... STOP LIMITING FEATURES, or, at least, stop limiting the use of the software to the point where one can not truly test/trial the app/software. Why not limit the total recording time to say, 3 minutes (that means either 1 dictation of 3 minutes or, say, 3 dictations of 1 minute each, etc.). That way, I can at least give a good chunk of dictation to my voice recognition software and see that it will accept it all. At the price of the full blown app I would want to know this is going to work... or is the developer trying to hide something!?Show lessTwinPack
