Would be great if Dictamus could be password protected or give the option to save selected recordings in a password protected vault.

On my ipad2, there is a limitation of 30s for each dictation and I can't see anywhere on the settings that I can adjust that. A 30 second limitation renders it useless for medical dictation.Ptc123159

Free Version is a Dummy - Does Not Record
I did not see anywhere on the description that free version was not a working version. It is just dummy version with screen shots and does not work. Very deceitful!Sanjeevp

Maximum compatibility means a universal format that produces good quality with reasonably sized files — files that can be transmitted quickly and efficiently over 3G and even (dare I say it) EDGE. What is this wonder format? It's called MP3: an MP3 is a fraction of the size of a WAV of equivalent quality.
There's a reason none of us is listening to WAV's on our iPods.

Great for physicians
I am a medical transcriptionist and my doctors love this app -- very efficient and easy to operate. The voice activated recording works great!Transcription pro

The app's best function by far is the voice activation and pause feature. Very good. Everything else is a bit fluff. $10 normally is tough, but the superb recording functions, and price comparisons to other dictation software most likely will justify the cost.
I was excited about transcription when I first saw this app, but unfortunately it's not a core feature. I understand though, because good transcription is a service, a different kind of business, & I do believe this app links to a few transcription service providers.

Functional, but confusing interface
It does it's job reasonably well, albeit with the 30s limit. But navigating around is baffling. This app could use a review from a UX professional.
In particular, I don't need most of the possible export conduits, but there is no way to delete or remove them from the UI. I have partially set up some of them while exploring, but having decided against them, I want to get rid of them. some are just plain silly (why do we need an SMTP export when integrated iOS mail is available?
Finally, I sure wish there was a way to convert my dictation to text.Show lessjdtangney
