**Title: Worst App Experience Ever! 🌟** I wish I could give this app zero stars. Fandango has managed to take everything that should be simple about buying movie tickets and turn it into a nightmare. First off, the app crashes constantly. I can't even search for a movie without the screen freezing up or the app completely closing on its own. When I finally do get it to stay open long enough to browse, the user interface is a confusing mess. Buttons are too small, the text is hard to read, and the layout looks like it was designed by someone who has never actually used an app before. But the worst part? Buying tickets. Oh man, where do I begin? I selected my movie and showtime, but when I tried to choose my seats, the app decided to randomly change my selection to a different theater in another city. Seriously? And when I finally managed to get the right theater and seats, the payment process was a disaster. The app wouldn't accept my perfectly valid credit card, and when I tried using Apple Pay, it just kept loading indefinitely. Don't even get me started on customer service. I reached out for help and got a generic auto-reply that did nothing to solve my problem. By the time I managed to buy my tickets (on the website, not the app), the show was sold out. My only complaint. Important!
I love Fandango and use it almost every week. I’m a very loyal customer. However when I uploaded $50 worth of gift cards last month and used $25 for tickets that day. When I went back the next week to get our tickets my remaining $25 was gone!! I called and Fandango told me they do not store gift card amounts. I let them know it showed I had a credit balance of $25 the last time why not now. Again they said they do not store. Keep in mind they no where on their app did it say “they do not store gift cards” They refused to give me a voucher or coupon. I emailed the main office and did not get a call back instead a series of emails saying that basically said I was out of luck. Shame on you Fandango. We are very loyal but you were not. Warning!! Incredibly invasive and obnoxious
If you buy a ticket, it wants to show you offers after, so it’s not enough you paid a fee, they want to put something in your face to make a few extra pennies and use dark patterns to get you to click or make it hard to find how to refuse. When adding the movie event to your calendar it wants full access to read all events so it can mine your private data for advertising. Something that’s simply not needed to add an event. Even after giving it Add Event Only privileges manually it still won’t add the event and requests full access. It’s incredibly shady and I’m surprised that Apple tolerates publishing it to the store when it violates so many guidelines and engages in spyware like behavior that isn’t necessary to the purpose of the application. I can’t believe Fandango has such blatant disregard for its paying customers. I’ll be contacting Apple to ask they review and put the smack down on them for violating their App Store terms of use.Show lesssurgeterrix
