Stupid

I press xorrect notes and say it’s wrong

Note brainer

I really like NoteBrainer because it is a cool game!
I do piano mode it is a great game for me!

It works! ... and quite quickly tooo

This is a great app. You can select the time you wish to play which clef you need to learn. And it if you get some notes wrong it-shows you the correct ones so you can’t start to remember. Then you can increase your time! It keeps your score history too. V good.

Good, I would pay for it.

I just wish an option to require a button to continue once you get a wrong answer. The timing showing the right answer is too short for me to “digest” my mistake. Good work.

Useless for what I need

I was hoping to learn to read music but this app assumes you already know it and just quizzes you. I cant be quizzed on something I haven’t learned. Also in the settings you have the option to change your instrument but that only changes what you hear; you’re still working with a piano interface.

Response from developer

In the settings you can enable note hints that tells you what each note is. After some practice with that you should be able to start recognising the notes quicker. This is really the aim of the app to help you recognise notes quicker ... I guess some knowledge of music notation is required to get the most out of it.

This is a very good app

This is a super good app because you can learn a lot form this app.

Review

It's a lot of fun. But; I get nervous at times and make mistakes. After many years of loving to sing and listen to music, I’m finally learning how to read the notes instead of having to depend on having someone play a song/ or sing a song for me first.

The sound disappeared

This app started out really well. However after I had it for a day or two, the sound stopped working and I couldn’t hear the note that was shown. I deleted it then reinstalled it but the results were the same. I would really like to use this app but without the sound it’s not useful to me. Can someone fix this please.

The sounds turn off if the phone has the silent mode switch enabled. I think this is the problem you are seeing. Also sound effects can be toggled in the settings (but still wont play in silent mode).

Super helpful free app

One suggestion to make the keyboard narrower and expanded, especially in landscape view so we don’t need to switch octaves when going high to low.

Fun game but confusing scales

It’s fun to play n does help with naming notes but is not to scale! Makes it confusing n possibly hinder learning the correct notes on keyboard as both a high and low note r applied to the same key in the game e.g. a high E and a low E are both supposed to be the same key on the onscreen keyboard! Obviously not correct on a real keyboard so may be confusing for learners who need to know not to press the same key for a high n a low note as you do in the game.

I agree, there is not really enough space for the whole range in portrait mode but I am considering extending the keyboard and adding this as a feature in landscape mode...
